World Rules
Salary Cap - $100 MIL: Teams are not allowed to exceed $100 million in player payroll. The means for determining compliance will be the Payroll number that appears under Payroll Information upon clicking the team name link on the Standings page.
No Tanking/Minimum Win Requirement: Minimum win thresholds (Effective Season 12) are 55 wins for one season (50 if it's your first season in the world) and 185 wins for 3 seasons. You can incur 2 strikes against the threshold and stay in the world if it is determined that a reasonable effort is being made to improve, and that other world rules have been followed. Owners found to be tanking will be ejected from the world immediately.
Cash In Trades: Cannot exceed the players' remaining salary
City Changes: Owners may change cities after being in their current location for five seasons, but many not change franchises. New owners may select the city of their choice
Maintaining Minors: Auto-pilot is fine, but you must have enough active players to avoid extreme fatigue so players are not run into the ground.

The Austin team was claimed so with only available teams Kenny Powers shows that it has a large group of loyal owners leaving few openings to fill. This world has a wealth of good owners and alogman1 is one of the premier commissioners on the site. You’ll need to be quick with your selection, but we have an opening in each league. Here’s a review of each of the available teams:


National League

Former New Orleans Franchise (72-90, 4^th pl)

After a 12 year run this team is looking for a new owner to return them to their former glory. Juan Ibanez (24, 64, .339, .426 OBP) was a hitting machine behind the plate. Wallace Roach (38, 89, .263) was the most imposing deep threat but 3 others besides Ibanez did smack over 20 HRs. With little team speed and a pedestrian .324 OBP, this team lacks an offensive identity so the next owner will need to figure out how best to put together a better combination to get more traffic on the base paths to allow those in the power slots to drive them in.

On the bump, Jose Nieves (9-7, 3.03) had a solid year while racking up 187 IP. Chris Hardtke (27 sv, 3.18) was good out of the pen but he did blow 7 saves. The team ERA of 4.45 wasn’t horrible, however more stability in the rotation may elevate this team to a playoff contender. Adding a couple of arms to the pen would also help making this another area needing to be upgraded.

This team doesn’t look far away from becoming dangerous and making some noise. The new owner should try to add some speed that can get on base in addition to another 30+ homerun bat. The pitching staff would improve dramatically if a couple of reliable SP & another couple of RP can be found.
This would be a quick fix for an experienced owner looking for a team that doesn’t need a complete overhaul. A newbie could take this on so that they can compete while learning the game and slowly add pieces to become a playoff team.
