We have long noticed that in the lineups in the PBP the OL4 slot is frequently blank. We have been told not to worry about it, that there is an OL there but he just doesn't show. That turns out not to be true. Before anyone gets excited and starts saying, "User error, user error," let me ask you this. What kind of user error do you imagine would put in a RB, DB, LB or DL at OL4? Yup, you read that right, guys are playing out of position at OL4.

I guess I should have been paying closer attention to the lineups, but now that I'm seeing such problems there I am sort of shocked. For newbies, I am referring to the PBP, where you can see the lineup for each play by clicking on the little green OX.

OL4 is really broken badly. I'm not so sure the entire coding for setting your lineups and planning your substitutions isn't broken.

I referenced one of the Warner D1AA semi-final games in the Feedback threads. Just out of curiosity I looked at the other semi-final game there. I started by looking at Yale’s offense, 1^st quarter.

Their first 3 snaps on their initial drive had Fitzpatrick playing two positions at once, OL4 and OL5. This also happened on the first 2 snaps on their next drive, the first 3 snaps beginning at 5:22 and 2 snaps beginning at 2:01. DB Pedro Johnson played OL4 at 9:53, 9:18 and 3:58. LB James Briggs played OL4 at 9:27, 1:07 and 0.04. That’s 16 offensive snaps out of 19 total in the first quarter alone. I didn’t look any farther.

Yale trailed 7-0 at the quarter.

I just took a look at my Navy squad. My PO game against Penn St. first play from scrimmage and one of my DB's is starting at OL 4. Multiple plays. Multiple plays OL 4is vacant. Then looked at a random game against Simai and the sim line looked normal. Am I setting up things wrong somewhere? To be the cause? If not what is the point of playing this? I'm trying to be a running team and if I'm running out DB's its no wonder I get hammered against a 90-90 D line.

call me crazy but I just checked my last game and it would seem that it happens more in a pro set. I did have a OL4 the whole game, but the other team did when they were not in a Pro set. see what you guys think.

How bad is it ? I just checked my last playoff game in Warner D2. Playing a ND Box formation I looked at my final 2 drives. One was 15 plays plus a penalty and the other 11 plays. With the 15 play drive OL4 was played by a db 9 times, a dl 2 times and a rib 2 times. Funny thing was the penalty was a holding call on the guy playing OL4 and you guessed it the guy was one of my starting OL man. On the other drive 11 plays it was a db 5 times, a dl 2 times and an rb 2 times. I saw where my opponent had his TE play 2 positions at the same time. This might be something WIS should look at.

Just looked at the 1st half of my Miami team game in Camp from last night. OL blank all but 1 play. I play pro set

I just checked my D2 team and at first glance
1. I do NOT see any problem with OL4 for my team using WISHBONE.
2. I definitely DO see this problem showing up on the sim team that I'm playing today.

My D3 team:
The problem DOES show up with my D3 team also running Wishbone.

For those seeing this issue at the upper divisions, are you using the OL depth chart....or are you using one of the others (OT, G, OL1, or OL2)?

For my D2 team I use OT and G.

For my D3 team there is only one depth chart available, which is OL.

I am running wishbone in IAA, using OT and G. I am seeing the same lineman listed at OL3 and OL4 on almost every play. To add to the weirdness, he is showing at different fatigue colors at OL3 and OL4 despite being at 85 in both.

My DB got blowed up when playing OT. Anyone sent in a bug report? I anticipate them saying that the PBP doesn't mean anything.

Ok so I went and checked out my PBP for game 1 at the half in Yost where im PennSt and running ProSet. So there is no one listed at OL4 for the beginning of every drive BUT there is a fatigue level beside the empty spot, so when the fatigue level gets to what i have set for the player that i have actually starting in the OL4 spot hits then the backup comes in and he IS visible at OL4 for some reason.

As well the player I have set to start at OL4 is registering the proper amount of playing time as if he was starting at OL4 so that leads me to believe there is a player in that spot just not showing up properly for some reason. Ive yet to find any game where a non OL shows up in my PBP at OL4 so that I cannot speak to.

I dont use the general OL list to choose the starter i use the Tackle and Guard/Center lists for my guards and tackles and put the center at OLUser1 list maybe that is why im not seeing RBs and DBs at OL4 I dunno. If I do find a DL or LB at OL4 ill post again.

Running Pro set. I have a defensive lineman showing up at OL4.

so, I run shotgun and trips in DI Wilk at Florida and I use OL and OL user 1 for my lineups.I checked the pbp for my last exhibition game. I never saw anyone listed as out of position, just OL4 was blank. It was mostly in passing formations, but not all passing formations. Rushing formations all had an OL4 listed and was not out of position. It appeared that when a substitution was made in a passing formation due to fatigue, the new OL that came into the game would be listed by name. when the starter came back in for a passion formation, it would be a blank OL4. I've changed every formation (run or pass) to use OL user 2. Let's see what that does...

I just submitted a ticket. I'll let you know what response there is.

By the way, another lineup problem is when players remain in the game down to 65%, when they are set to 95% and there are players at that position on the bench at 100% who aren't being substituted in.
