I give myself a B- on this draft. good defense, not many 3s, rebounding is all over the place, usage is iffy.

Reaching for the efg% jewel this season.
See if it works for this team. Not sure about Simmons & TJ but should be contenders for playoff spot. Cant remember using Steph before so it was a fun and quick draft McGraw. GL Bobaloo!

When I joined this league, Midge told me that the previous season's winner would evaluate everyone's teams and that if I paid attention to the evals I would be the one writing them soon enough. I'm not sure if he was being polite or cursing me to take on extra work!
As I noted in the previous thread, this is only my third league, so me writing evals brings to mind the Peter principle: people tend to rise to "a level of respective incompetence" (i.e. they are promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent).
So I advise you to treat these like performance evaluations from the pointy haired boss in the Dilbert comics.

1) seapilots - Steph Curry, Bam Adebayo, Walker Kessler, Jakob Poeltl, Ben Simmons, TJ McConnell, Desmond Bane
Curry is a great foundation with efficient high usage and shoots enough 3s to single handedly prevent opponent defenses from packing the paint. I like the big rotation of Bam, Kessler, Poeltl (though the one with the highest usage is merely average at eFG%). Having Simmons as a guard makes up for any potential rebounding deficiency from Bam who helps with assists. My one concern is that Bane is going to take too many shots at 55% eFG%. Overall this looks like a solid team, and I would predict it is a playoff contender.

2) uptowngbv - LeBron James, Domantas Sabonis, Daniel Gafford, Tobias Harris, CJ McCollum, Dale Davis, Dwyane Dedmon
LeBron is another great foundational piece with 60% eFG% on high usage, and really no weaknesses. Sabonis is a great secondary piece (I suspect that I'm the high man on him), effectively a poor man's Jokic with lower usage and worse defense. Gafford pairs well with them with the high eFG% and better Def to help hide Sabonis (Davis will help hide him on D too). Overall this looks like another solid squad that should contend for a playoff spot.

3) PBandJ - Wilt Chamberlain, Jason Kidd, Klay Thompson, Marques Johnson, Bill Russell, Jerry West, David West
Hard to argue with Wilt here as he's good at everything, but I'm not so sure about some of these other picks though. The best Wilt season, while super efficient, doesn't have that high usage so I would want to surround him with a bunch of efficient shooters/scorers. And since he gives a good foundation in Reb/Assists/D you can afford to skimp a bit in other areas to solidify eFG%. Thompson fits the mold (not sure he should go this early though), but Kidd is better at other categories (his 48% eFG% with a higher usage than Wilt is not ideal). Russell and Jerry West were great in their day, but I don't think their eFG% will be high enough to be useful here. You'll have great D and rebounding with the ultimate twin towers, but I don't think this team will score enough to make the playoffs.

4) Midge - Nikola Jokic, Chet Holmgren, Jrue Holiday, John Collins, Bobby Portis, Jalen Williams, Josh Hart
Jokic would be my favorite player to build around. Tough to beat 66 eFG% with high usage, plus good boards and assists. Only weaknesses are fewer minutes than other stars and poor D. As you can probably guess, I'm a fan of surrounding him with a bunch of high eFG% players. This team is going to score, but may struggle a bit on the boards, and defending post players (while there are good guard defender, Holmgren is the only big good at D and he doesn't play a ton of minutes).
I hypothesize that efficient scoring trumps everything, so this looks like a really strong team to me despite having a few more minutes than needed. I predict a playoff contender.

5) dakjd901 - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Tyson Chandler, Gary Payton, Kermit Washington, Kyle Korver, Terrence Jones, Buck Williams
Giannis is the last of what I would consider a tier 1 pick, but think I would choose 23-24 for the >62 eFG% and 100 SF effectiveness. This team has some great deffenders and good rebounding, but only Korver and Chandler with high eFG% (and neither have high usage). Buck Williams was a good value, but Payton and Washington were picked earlier than I would have considered them. Strikes me as around a .500 squad.

6) dh555 - Anthony Davis, Nic Claxton, Shawn Marion, Victor Oladipo, Steve Nash, Jameer Nelson, Andrew Bynum
One can quibell about the order, but I think you guys nailed the right top 5 picks. This is where picking gets tricky, and I'm not sure Davis is the direction I would go. He's obviously a great player, but I would worry about having a mid 50s eFG% on really high usage making it challenging to build an efficient offense. How much better is he really than Ewing who goes undrafted? Claxton and Nash go a long way to shoring up this team's efficiency.
I took Nash in the 6th round last season after he seemed to usually go undrafted, so I'm glad to see him going earlier, but still think round 5 is too late. I know his defense is terrible, but there just aren't that many 60+ eFG% options on reasonably high usage - particularly guards (really only Curry and LeBron come to mind). That makes him an inspired choice when AD was the first rounder. He's basically Stockton with higher usage and worse D, but 3-4 rounds later.
Oladipo is the right idea as a backcourt mate with his high D so you can hide Nash (there really aren't any teams with 2 high usage / efficient guards), but I fear he will give a lot back on offense with really high usage and poor eFG%. May have preferred someone like Simmons who has equally good D, but lower usage so as not to take shots away from Nash and Claxton.
This team may contend for a playoff spot, but I don't think it is efficient enough to be a title contender.

7) berkelon - Michael Jordan, Karl Anthony-Towns, Bill Walton, Donyell Marshall, Brent Barry, Nerlens Noel, Enes Kanter
I still think Jordan is the GOAT, but Whatifsports' lack of era adjustments really hurts him here. A 55% eFG% was great in 1990, but subpar in today's game, and he won't get as many FT as he did in real life to pad his true shooting percentage. There really should be normalization like in the Baseball sim, as clearly Jordan would be above 55% taking more 3s and with no hand checking, but alas... I like Towns and Barry as complementary scorers, but think Marshall and Walton will take too many shots and this team won't be that efficient. Defense is good, and this looks pretty strong in other categories so should compete for a playoff spot.

8) samuelyork93 - Dwight Howard, Jimmy Butler, Horace Grant, Jayson Tatum, Scottie Barnes, Steven Adams, Isaiah Hartenstein
Howard was a guy I was hoping would fall to me last season as he is one of the few with the high usage / high eFG% that makes building a good offense much easier (plus he's great at D and rebounding). The problem I see is that Butler, Tatum, and Barnes all have higher usage than Howard and their eFG% pale in comparison to his 61+. I have mixed feelings about Tatum in particular; great rebounding for a guard and he soaks up a lot of usage - just not clear he is really the one you want taking shots with a 55% eFG%. I think this will be a ~.500 team.

9) gerryred - Shaquille O’Neal, Damian Lillard, Larry Nance, Nikola Vucevic, Andrei Kirilenko, Jalen Johnson, Ivica Zubac
Shaq is another strong round 1 option with higher usage than Howard, but gives up a bit in other categories. Definitely the right idea to add someone like Lillard as a second banana (IRL he worked well with Kobe/Wade), but I would have preferred an eFG% over 60. Having said that, it's nice to lock in at least a league average offense after 2 rounds!
Nance and Kirilenko are great defensively, but I don't think they offer enough other things to be drafted so early. With only Vecevic as a high eFG% secondary scorer, this team may struggle to keep up against more efficient scoring teams. It'll go as far as it can ride Shaq and Dame. I would guess around .500.

10) riftonapple - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Andre Drummond, Derrick Favors, Donovan Mitchell, Richaun Holmes, Aaron Gordon, Bob McAdoo
First of all, thank you for your advice last season. SAG is putting up some Jordanesqe stats (with slightly higher eFG%), so is a good starting point. But between him, Mitchell, and McAdoo - the three highest usage players on the team have merely average efficiency. I imagine you will stagger Mitchell and SAG so they don't fight over the ball! Drummond is a monster on the boards, but with an even lower eFG%. Favors / Holmes / Gordon were all guys that I considered and think they work well as complementary pieces pulling up the team's eFG% (and Favors really helps on D). Maybe a tad light on assists and the D was not a primary focus, but this looks like a playoff contender.
