Standard Consecutive Random as Possible Progressive (SCRAPP)

24 Team League - 6/4 Format. All players and all seasons are available.

Initial Draft:
Owners currently in URAPP, MERAPP or SOFRY will have the opportunity to "claim" players on their rosters in those leagues prior to the draft. Once the league is full, I will ask them to sitemail to me a list of the players from their roster(s) in those leagues they wish to claim. Should a player be claimed by more than one owner, a random draw will be held to determine who gets him. The draft order in the initial draft will be set by the number of players successfully claimed ranked lowest to highest. Claim no one, start at the top. Claim the most, draft at the bottom. If you claim seven players you will not begin drafting until the eighth round. Owners joining from outside those leagues will have the first few rounds to themselves. Ties will be broken randomly. You may claim a maximum of 25 players because while unlikely, you could get them all. Any player in the WiS database is eligible to be drafted.

Once the draft is complete, a random season will be drawn for all players. You will start with that season and progress season-by-season from there. So you could get the best seasons or you could get a player's last season. That's the roll of the dice. If the season drawn is a non-WiS season let me know and a redraw will be done (see IL players below.)

Free Agency:
Following each trade deadline, I will draw a random number from 0-9. Let's say for example 5 is drawn. All players currently playing a year that ends in 5 become free agents. That means owners will have varying numbers of free agents. In theory, it should represent 10% of the league. Those players go into the draft pool for the following draft. If five is drawn, not many players will have seasons ending in six the following season. So if six is drawn the next season it would mean a small free agent class. So things can vary as we go.

Subsequent Drafts:
Players drafted will have randomly drawn seasons from which they start just as in the initial draft. The draft order will be determined by the total salary of your free agents in the upcoming season. So if you lose a 1975 player, his 1976 salary will count toward your total. Salaries are cut off after the tenth of a million. So 5,883,671 is simply 5.8. If he doesn't have a '76 season we will use '77 or whatever the next season of his career happens to be. If he doesn't have an upcoming season because he was at the end of his career then his salary is considered zero. In the case of partial/combined seasons the highest available total will be used.

Keepers/Cuts:
Except for free agents, you may keep or cut as many players as you like. Players who reach the end of their career are automatic cuts. However, cut players do not count toward your draft total, only free agents do.

Trades:
Due to each team having different numbers of free agents, it won't be possible to know how many draft picks you will have until after the trade deadline. So you could trade away a 4th, 5th, 6th round pick etc. and then not actually have that many picks. In this scenario, you will receive or lose that pick in the draft after that one. So when accepting a pick in a trade please understand that you may not get that pick for a season or two. And if you trade a 5th round pick but don't have five picks, you will enter the next season without a fifth round pick. Trades are subject to the normal veto process. Traded players continue their career progression as is. Random seasons are only drawn for newly drafted players.

IL/IR/DL:
There will be no IL in this league. We will jump over missing seasons and progress via their WiS seasons card. So it's as if no one went to war, lost a season due to injury, etc.

AAA:
Each team will have two well below average fictitious players for trade balancing only. These players should only be called up if you fall short of 25 players and if called up should be set to "rest."

Stadium:
Your stadium should be one that someone on your roster called home in their current year. Stadiums are non-exclusive.

No salary cap, no clones, no DH. Injuries are off. Random realignment each season.

What this means for owners joining who are not in URAPP/MERAPP/SOFRY: You will have a full 25-man initial draft. Some players will be unavailable as they were claimed by owners in those leagues so your squad will join much like an expansion team in real life. You will draft in all 25 rounds whereas those owners won't start drafting until a few rounds in. And since all players are subject to a random draw and free agency, any perceived advantage they have is gonna evaporate quickly. I'm also considering a 27-man roster rather than 25 to make it easier to carry players through down seasons. That's certainly up for discussion. Any questions please ask!
