The World Series is now over. Arizona was too much for Montreal and took the series behind one of the most devastating pitching staffs I've seen assembled in HBD. Should be down to 2 teams in a little while. If you haven't heard of Addicted Users, then you're either new or just not on top of some of the premier worlds in HBD. This world has a long history and typically rolls with only a few openings, so your opportunity to join doesn't stay open long. I try to bring in solid owners with winning records to enhance the competitive nature of things. We want to battle and build rivalries that will entertain everyone. While I continually tease torrone and a few others, I truly believe they are great owners and raise the bar. So take a look at the available teams and let me know which you'd like to build into your next powerhouse franchise.

Addicted Users has long been a top world in the HBD Universe. It provides top flight competition from some very successful veteran owners that will fight you tooth & nail one moment, then offer advice and help if needed. Whether you are a veteran looking for a solid world or a newer player looking to find a world to help you learn the game, AU is a great place to do either. Here's a review of the 2 available teams:

AL North

Former Salt Lake Franchise (63-99, 3rd pl) - TAKEN

This franchise is now three seasons removed from a long time owner that had a very successful run. The past two seasons have been ok however a little tweaking will go a long way towards getting this team back into the thick of the playoff battle. Francisley Fernandez (19, 84, .312) & Domingo Alcantara (27, 82, .259) were the top run producers, yet they did receive some support from Karim Duraza (25, 68, .262) & Keith Neal (23, 78, .244). While a .257 team batting average isn't horrible, scoring less than 700 runs (673) is an indication that scoring was a problem that will need to be addressed.

The pitching staff was led by the double headed closers of Francisco Cabrera (13/15, 1.91) & Pat Lorraine (21/24, 2.15). So the bullpen has a couple of anchors at the backend. The starting rotation on the other hand needs to be upgraded as no starter had a sub 5.00 ERA and the staff had 500 IP handled by pitchers with ERA's over 6.

The new owner will need to focus on the pitching staff and the rotation in particular, then worry about upgrading the offense. There are a few prospects that may help the Big League squad but it will need to be augmented by trade or FA acquisition until the draft can bring in more talent. This could be a good team for a vet looking for a rebuild or a newbie wanting to build a team as they learn the game.

NL North

Former New Britain Franchise (79-83, 3rd pl)

It's been 5 seasons since this team has won the division, the last 4 years have been spent hovering around .500 not able to get the traction needed to make a playoff run. Lonny Romero (45, 118, .303) is a stud, Tiny Danks (17, 67, .295) & Kenneth Seneca (15, 50, .275) added support. Yet this team overall had a .245 avg and only scored 667 runs so an influx to juice up the offense would seem to be desperately needed.

The team ERA was a decent 3.83, however only converting 49 of 73 save opportunities turned many a game from victory into defeat. Willie Almora led the staff with a 12-6 record out of the pen, and that was part of the problem. The fact that closer Lonnie O'Leary converted 40/50 sv chances was good, his 5.69 ERA wasn't.

The offense needs to be upgraded with some additional power. The starting rotation could use a couple of frontline pitchers to move everyone back a spot or two. This is another team a veteran owner could work his magic on as he put a plan into action to revive this once proud franchise. For a newbie, this would be a good chance to slowly build a team while learning the game as long as he shows some patience in doing so.
