CAPB (56) - 1 SPOT LEFT - TOP 10 PICK & ACE SP Topic

In CAPB, we have just rolled! Here are a few reasons why you should join us:

1. We have a balanced league. Over the past ten seasons, 12 separate franchises have made the World Series, and six separate franchises have won it.

2. We have a solid group of experienced core owners that return each season. In a typical season, we roll with only a few openings. We have a high retention rate and would prefer owners that are open to multi-year commitments should they enjoy the season in CAPB.

3. We feature a fun, relaxed atmosphere for experienced and new GMs alike. We also have some very unique, but limited rules designed to enhance the competition and fairness.

Private rules:
1.) Park Restrictions: No park affects greater than +/- 2

2.) SALARY CAP: MAJOR LEAGUE MAXIMUM CONTRACT: 5 years/$75m, including signing bonus. Annual compensation (salary & bonus) cannot exceed $15MM in any one year. The penalty for a breach of the rule is onerous. One HBD GC to be held in escrow until the offending contract runs its course. The player must be waived and once he clears waivers, he must spend the first 81 games on the AAA inactive list each year of the contract. Any player that is obtained with an overbid is ineligible for postseason play. (exception: there are no limits on signing bonuses for international free agents)

3.) MINOR LEAGUE ROSTER REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 23 players at each level, including minimum of 1 player for each defensive position.

4.) MWR: Also, starting with season 24, any owner that fails to win at least 50 games in a season will be replaced. The owner may appeal and the commissioner will appoint a 5 man committee of long term owners to see if another season should be granted. If that owner is granted another season they should improve to 60 wins the next season. This can also be appealed the same way as before. Any owner at or under a .250 winning percentage at the 81 game mark will receive a warning. If that owner remains at or under .250 at the 120 game mark, the commissioner will begin seeking a replacement owner and submit a ticket to have Admin review the situation. If Admin determines that the team is abandoned or that the owner is tanking, the commissioner will request that Admin replace the owner. Regardless of Admin's finding, the owner will be replaced at the end of the season if the team fails to win 50 or more games. This rule is in keeping with the new Fair Play Guidelines and we think it is necessary for the competitive balance of the league.
