You want to play us next season. You NEED to play us next season. (Sorry, I just saw the Cruise-Nicholson scene from A Few Good Men)

With 6 incoming freshmen, we have 8 underclassmen each of the next two seasons. I'd say it's good scheduling on your part. I just hope we can scratch out a winning record.

I just returned to the CVAC after a four year absence, and just thrilled with taking over a ghost.  THE WORST part is he failed to schedule his game this season in the CVAC-Heartland Challenge!!
This NC Tourney is one of the big reasons I left D1, and took over a mess.  Does anybody have any clout with the CS depatment, and think they could manually add the game?

wvufan, I doubt they can, but you can always ask to see if they will.

if not just do what we did a few seasons ago, and schedule the game in preseason and have both sides agree to have it count towards the challenge...otherwise it should unfortunately count as a forfeit win for the Heartland.

Andersen (1-3) @ Rockhurst (3-1): Hollis Eccleston leads Anderson with just over 12 ppg. Anderson struggles on the defensive end, giving up over 90 ppg. Rockhurst's small ball attack has three good options: Bobby Harris (17.0 ppg), John Baker (12.5 ppg), and William Harrison (11.3 ppg). Rockhurst favored by 11.

W Florida (3-1) at St Andrews (2-2): 4 starters average double-digits for W Florida: Joshua Hardin (16.5 ppg), John Robinson (13.3 ppg), Michael Pasco (11.8 ppg), and Dean Evans (10.5 ppg). St Andrews's Melvin Johnson & Alfred Bosch combine for nearly 31 ppg. W Florida favored by 6.

Rockhurst 90, Anderson 55: Anderson entered the contest giving up 90 ppg. The Rock got exactly 90 in their 35 point demolition of Anderson. Rockhurst's "little 3" of Harris, Baker, and Harrison got 43. Anderson shot 37% and committed 27 turnovers in the loss.

W Florida 71, St Andrews 61: W Florida pulls away late, holding St Andrews without a FG the last 3:36 in the 10 point win. John Robinson leads the way with a game-high 23 for victorious W Florida. St Andrews was outrebounded 40-28.

W Alabama 61, Lees-McRae 58: This one got scheduled a night early, but W Alabama won a thriller by 3. Lees-McRae's Kenneth Gamble missed a game-tying 3-three-pointer with 0:02 left. Gamble had made 5 of his previous 9 attempts from beyond the arc enroute to 17 for LM. Marc Wesley had 18 on 6 made triples for winning W Alabama.

Moving this weekend, can someone else handle the preview/results?
5/31/2014 12:47 PM
N. Alabama 73 Barton 52: N. Alabama's young squad made sure that they would continue the Heartland's hot streak. N. Alabama's defense absolutely smothered Barton's team, as no Barton player scored more than 8 points. Barton hung in there for a while - it was a 5 point game with 15 minutes left, but then N. Alabama drained 3 pointer after 3 pointer, and the barrage of 3's left Barton down by 17 only 5 minutes later in the game. From there, it was no contest. Guards Holliday and Gilbert combined to score 38 of N. Alabama's 73 points, and Barton couldn't stop their 3 point shooting.

Heartland 4, CVAC 0-Fer
6/2/2014 6:08 PM
Montevallo 72, Mt. Olive 70:  A thrilling game between two mid-level teams that turned out to be a CVAC-Heartland Challenge classic. Montevallo took a 38-23 halftime lead behind PG Dennis King's 14 first half points. After Cluedo's halftime death threats to the Mt. Olive players' entire extended families, Mt. Olive went on a blistering 34-14 2nd half run to take a 5 point lead with 7 minutes left. Mt. Olive maintained a 3 point lead with 30 seconds left, but Cluedo's team strangely decided to foul the crap out of every Montevallo player every chance they got. Apparently the "hack-a-everyone-on-montevallo" strategy didn't work, as the Falcons hit 5 out of 6 free throws down the stretch to get the narrow win. Coach cleudo punched himself in the face in disgust as Tim Schlemmer airballed the potential game-tying fadeaway, leaving the CVAC still winless in the tourney.

Heartland 5, CVAC emptiness and agony.
