Timing of Ratings Bumps Topic

Does anyone know of anything that can be done (aside from promotion) to make a ratings bump come sooner?

in my experience, players typically get a ratings update on Opening Day, and then somewhere around the 30, 60, 90, 120, and (if you’re lucky) 150 game marks. But these times aren’t exact. One guy might get a bump at game 24, while another doesn’t get one until 33. And we all know that promoting a player will lead to a bump, unless they had one very recently.

I'm just wondering, has anyone discovered anything else that can be done to affect when these bumps happen? I feel like if I could somehow make them all happen earlier, I might be able to squeeze that elusive sixth bump out of my minor league who play deep into the playoffs.

Bumps happen at the end of Spring Training and then every 20 games. The exception is for promotions. The most number of bumps to the overall number I remember seeing for one player in a season is 5. A player's ratings can increase incrementally, without getting an overall ratings bump.

"Bumps" is not really the correct way to think about ratings increases and promotions don't cause "Bumps" or ratings increases. There is not a set time when a prospect's ratings suddenly go up by 1 or 2 or 3 full points. Ratings increases (at various speeds depending on various factors) are happening all the time behind the scenes. What you see on a player's profile is just a snapshot of where the player is at that particular time.

The most snapshots I have ever seen is 6, "Opening Day" and 5 more during the season that may be labeled "Regular Season" or "Promotion". Often there is 5, "Opening Day" + 4 more. Having 6 instead of 5 does not mean that player got an extra ratings increase. It just means we get to see an additional snapshot of where the player's ratings are at behind the scenes.

I think I remember getting an extra one when a minor league player plays longer in the playoffs. Also getting one for promotion generally means he won't get the next regular interval one.
