This just came up on my Twitter feed.
1990 Cincinnati Reds (WS champs)
No player reached 90 RBI
No player reached 200 Hits
No player scored 100 Runs
No player hit 30 Home Runs
No pitcher recorded more than 15 Wins
No pitcher recorded 200 Strikeouts
91-71 regular season and 8-2 postseason
Why is this significant? It's one of the teams I drew for this tournament.
In the short 1990 postseason they were deadly...in a 162 gamer against other champs no shot. I look at this tournament more like Luck of the Draw. I have some undesirables as well. 1981 Yankees, 1965 Twins, 2022 Astros, 2009 & 1993 Phillies not so awesome.
Commish put it out there it would be a challenge and he was correct. Some of the challenges are beyond managing. It is more like mitigating.
