Immaculate Grid Topic

Sounds like you may have missed 1. If you miss a square, it adds 100 points.

Hi contrarian23 and Happy New Year !

No i got them all.grid 298

Randolph Mizell Stargell
Holtzman McGuire Reggie
Munson Pujols Lynn

All worked. That is why I don't understand why I am not at least in double digits.

It recognized that I got an immaculate board. But it gave me a rarity score of 174. Weird no?

Vinegar Bend was one I was particularly proud of.

So who knows?

Dang!
I remember this game, it was news all over baseball for a day.

https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/july-6-1970-the-game-when-sam-mcdowell-played-second-base-for-the-indians/

But I remembered Sam McDowell playing shortstop, not second. So I put him in as the answer for grid 299 as Cleveland shortstop for at least one game. But he played second base! Aargh!

italyprof, I just entered your answers in grid 298, and yup, 174. The big issue is that Pujols was chosen by 79% of respondents:

Randolph: 2
Mizell: 0.3
Stargell: 19
Holtzman: 0.5
McGwire: 39
Reggie: 13
Munson: 8
Pujols: 79
Lynn: 14

Add them up...174.8

FWIW, my grid was:
Dock Ellis (1)
Dick Groat (2)
Paul Waner (1)
Holtzman (0.5)
Matty Alou (0.2)
Eddie Collins (0.5)
Stan Bahnsen (0.7)
Wally Moon (2)
Munson (0.8)
Total: 10

Pujols!!

(Just kidding. Thank you contrarian 23.)

But, since I missed whole months of the game, I went back to number 288, and found that the grid happened to ask about teams where i remembered un-recalled players!

Rarity score 9!

Which it should not be, because Bill White for example, was a good player on pennant winning teams, a Yankees announcer for decades, and President of the National League! And Curt Flood
and Dick Allen were once household names.
so basically we are bettig against the baseball illiteracy of current fans!

I moved recently and haven't had time to complete Immaculate Grid. Did I miss anything?!
You can go back and do the ones from previous days. Don't worry. Just click on "Previous Grids" on the one for any given day and you will see the whole list.
