Not to start a tumult but from the steroids era imbroglio I would accuse some 50 players at least of very bad character. To those who agree with me nuff said.
To those who do not - understood.

Yeah, I agree, but the idea here was to - even if we don't get awhole team out of it ever - to imagine a team each decade of each of the two categories. The steroid era, you could fill a whole league on one side of the equation, as you point out.

Fair enough.
outstanding great character - Jackie Robinson especially 1947. The best.
Subhuman character - 1947 Phillies manager Ben Chapman for vicious evil racism and encouraging the racism of others. He goes in the stain on the game category.
other notable good character guys not on the Dodgers in 1947 - Phillies Lee Hadley for being a human being when Jackie could have used it.
Also Hank Greenberg - both went out of their way to demonstrate that there were some non racist white players in 1947.

Hank Greenberg - 1930s showed strength of character and a rise above it for the sake of the game mindset when pitchers would not pitch to him so that a jewish guy would not break the 60 home run record.

Class action good character - the guys who patriotically fought in WW2 and did not claim flat feet or bone spurs.

I totally agree on all points here.

As a life long Phils fan going back to Ashburn & Roberts I’d like to pronouce the whole organization,& ownership guilty to at least 1965. Finally after sending to Little Rock, surrounding him with rascist teammates, they began to realize that Dick Allen deserved better.
