Only some are built. I think 4 but I'm not positive.

how about a reduced amount of penalty points so that they still have the chance to make round 2 but also are assessed a justified penalty. I agree with drock that the penalty amounts are excessive and it's a deterrent to that owners' enjoyment if they have no shot.

I really don’t like changing the rules once they are set, but the objective is to get this thing started. If there were others waiting in the wings to join, I’d say no, he’s earned his penalty, but with the trouble getting this to fill, I’m ok if we need to cancel penalties to get things going.

The rules were clear and someone for whatever reasons (good and bad) didnt follow them. How do we then enforce exceptions in the later rounds if these are totally wiped away?

Here is another solution. Do not enforce any penalty points but in the event this owner Wins anything, significantly dock the payout. They can still say they Won something but do not get full financial reward. Also, if someone is trying to threaten or negotiate their way to a more favorable ruling, then kick them out right now. This is about those who want to be in the Tourney and who followed the rules.

I voted to wipe out the points, but I guess I might add that I view this as a two-way deal: if we eliminate the penalty points, then they agree to get this done within like 24 hours.

I don't know if it will make a difference, but two WISC owners have offered to use an alias account to enter teams in the leagues we would need to fill. This would be done openly and they would not be in the same league as their "points-earning" teams. So that would get us closer to a faster start, if other owners don't step up.

I agree with this. . . . I'm okay with wiping out the penalty points, but only if there is a hard deadline set now for this specific situation, like 48 hours or whatever. The goal now is to get this thing launched.

The way I feel is the following:

For any penalty points accrued prior to final 6 team deadline, I'm ok with wiping them out IF it will get this tournament going and not doing so would significantly delay the tournament.

For any penalty points accrued after the final 6 team deadline, they MUST stand. Otherwise, there's no point to having a final deadline. So if he only has 4 teams ready to go, then he should get 2 penalty points today and 2 penalty points for every day he doesn't have all his teams in.

Yes, when I ran things - that was an option to avoid this exact situation happening.

I voted to wipe out the points, BUT that would be contingent on getting at least 4 teams entered today. Start applying penalty points for the remaining two teams for each day not entered, starting tomorrow.

Yes, when I ran things - that was an option to avoid this exact situation happening.

I posted repeatedly to fill a waitlist and wound up using the only owners who stepped up.

I started posting early to get individual theme rosters ready, and only two owners ever responded.

Interest is just mild this year, or something. But I feel like I tried pretty hard to have backup plans in place.

I also have alternative versions of each of the 6 themes built that can be entered, if needed. It will be sad when they perform better than the teams I went with though…

Oh, I didn't mean to imply this was your fault. Back when I ran things, I never considered having random owners filling the open spot, so I was trying very hard to avoid having to replace somebody at the last minute then ask that replacement to build 6 teams in a short time frame.
