Coincidencentally after my comment on 3rd parties Drudge did a deep dive on big 3rd party candidate stories.

Those that don’t consult Drudge for daily news are missing the great source of all things most important in the news.
I'll have to read up on that. Always find that kind of analysis interesting.

There is only one party in the US right now. Having a 2nd one to choose from would be an improvement.

The Demipublicans and Republocrats have been two sides of the same coin for generations. What you see is mostly for public consumption.
As Wylie will attest to that kind of false equivalency is anathema to me meaning I could not disagree more even if I was dead.

im sorry to say this my friend but it is not worthy of debate. And please do not say I’m copping out.

You are a brilliant guy and that’s just some type of emotional reaction to a very disheartening truth.
No, you are not copping out. If you want to believe that we have two parties, be my guest. Most Americans suffer the same delusion that you do, lol.

The last time the US had legit, balloted independent parties would have been around 2000...The Green Party and Libertarian Party were destroyed and absorbed into the machine.
When the 2 parties are so diametrically different who needs a third party. They are just messianic egotistical hellrazers. That’s why I can see RFK going 3 P.
I'm not saying there won't be a third individual on the ballot for a one-off election.

I am saying that there will not be a national 3rd Party. The duopoly that currently exists will always work together as one to destroy any outsider who tries to achieve political power. This effectively makes the Democrats and Republicans a single party, opposing any challenge to the status quo, which is themselves.

You don't have to go back that far in history to find examples.

righto then

me and you are brothers

the way to get to three meaningful parties or more is to outlaw anything more than 50%+1

but no

we got this thing where you win my state you get all my votes

we got this thing where it takes 60 to decide

what a crock

Crock is crook minus an o.
Teddy Roosevelt tried it and it did not stick.

Americans and most people have a natural inclination to choose between A and B.
Anything more is way too complicated.

We also evolved a system to coalesce competing ideology mainly economics into a binary choice. Along the way one of the parties found a way to convince voters into joining the party serving their employer in opposition to them but I digress.

Our politics is 2 polar opposite parties.
If it was possible for Zeus and Hera to birth a brand new fully actualized party to join the other 2 and that party be unique and competitive but not derivative I think that would be fantastic.

It would completely change the way business is done in Congress and lead to greater consensus building.

The problem is that the fake third party candidates like communist Jill Stein and spoiler in chief Rolf Nader strike fear as they should into a party running a winning race only to be upended in the electoral college by a drop out.

That is a bad outcome.
I don’t want third parties unless we get rid of the electoral college.

Today a great third party could be formed by the former republicans who are sane and decent people including the Lincoln Project and people like Michael Steele and David Jolly and Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

They are so pro democracy that for now they will only support the democrats so long as the republicans remain really and truly a party of autocrats and cowards and let’s face it - scum.

So I see a possible third party of substance and heft in maybe 20 years.

Bread and Circuses.

We have one totalitarian party. The two halves come about it from opposite directions but the end goal is exactly the same, the same way the National Socialists and Bolsheviks came about it from supposedly the right and the left ...total control from a centralized base with themselves as the gatekeepers. It's a bad joke portrayed by bad actors and, one of these days, the American public will get tired and send them all out on a rail.

You want to think the republicans are scum and the democrats are the saviors of the nation. Hate to break it to you - they are all scum, they are all autocrats and cowards and the only thing they are "pro" is pro absolute power.

From an apparent charter member of the Cynical Party. Like Reagan said...........Government doesn't help it is to be feared.
THAT was the beginning of the downfall of the Republican Party. The current "mess of sh*t" masquerading as Republican is the end result.

I used to think that way myself actually.
Until I flipped the coin and recognized that expecting a negative result guarantees a negative result and decided to TRY and shine a positive light.........
But I still get annoyed at superficiality and ignorance and especially willful stupidity.
Which I see far too often round these parts!

You kook. :)
You think democrats are scum because you hate the democratic politics of and since FDR.
You are a quality person so you realize that the republicans of today are personally scumbags.

Cool news today

J Cannon set the Florida docs case for May 20.
There can be continuances and delay.
But I can’t see delay be more then 2 months and the trial should not be more then 1 month so even if it gets pushed to August that’s still 3 months before the trial so the show should go on.

it could easily be a 4 day a week trial giving trump 1 day for campaign and weekends ( 3/7) and she could let him skip attendance once in a while.

I feel good that this trial will start and end before September 1 2024.

Trump vs DeSantis

How I see it. Trump is a physical style bully.
You get the impression he wants to punch you in the nose or inspire violence. He goes to war with symbols of power or competition. There is no contemplation involved. He is a bulldozer.

DeSantis goes after groups no one is worked up against that much. And they are neither competition or symbols of power. It is just extremely prissy which is the exact opposite of what he wants to portray.

IMO he is finished. He painted himself into a corner and he is going to be a prissy whiny little bitchh.
immutable. He picked the wrong targets to impress the trump people and now he needs his wife to pick up the pieces after him so now looks even more like a wuss.
Sorry Ron.

The Media Are Attempting a Blackout on the IRS Whistleblowers, and It's Not Only Liberal Outlets
Matt Vespa

Maybe some other outlets will revisit this bombshell hearing, but it was quite a shameful display from the media, even from liberal outlets. There are stories where the noise is too loud to ignore. This Biden corruption fiasco is one of them.

“Agent X” came out of the bunker Wednesday. Joseph Ziegler, a 13-year veteran at the IRS, stood next to Special Agent Gary Shapley, another whistleblower, where the two men detailed the gross malfeasance and Justice Department interference they endured during their investigations into Hunter Biden on tax violations. The Biden family has received millions in shady government access deals, with $10 million being allegedly paid to Hunter and Joe by Burisma Holdings in 2015-16. The FBI has an FD-1023 report from a confidential human source.

That source, Shapley and Ziegler, are credible and respected, so the Democrats failed to discredit the latter two during the hearing. It was a mess. The testimony from these IRS officials, cast an impeachable scenario for Joe Biden. That he and his son were part of a bribery operation in Ukraine, whose paper trail was masked, or attempted to be concealed, by DOJ officials, with federal agents and attorneys running interference on any probe relating to Hunter Biden, Ziegler documented multiple times Biden’s son broke tax laws, the cumulative effect being so significant that he recommended charges.

NEWS & POLITICS
BREAKING: Burisma CEO Told Informant He Was ‘Coerced’ Into Paying Bidens $10 Million Bribe

President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden coerced Burisma co-founder and CEO Mykola Zlochevsky to pay them millions of dollars in exchange for pressuring the Ukrainian government to dismiss prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the company for corruption.

Zlochevsky reportedly informed the FBI’s confidential human source (CHS) during a meeting in August 2016 that “it cost 5 [million] to pay one Biden, and 5 [million] to another Biden,” according to the redacted FD-1023 form released by Grassley.

We know that Joe Biden played his role in the transaction, not only because Shokin was, in fact, fired, but because Biden publicly bragged about how he pressured then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko by using a $1 billion loan from the Obama Administration as leverage to get Shokin fired.

“I went over, I guess, the 12th, 13th time to Kiev. And I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor [Shokin]. And they didn’t,” Biden recalled back in 2018. “So they said they had — they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to — or, we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, you have no authority. You’re not the president. The president said — I said, call him. I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a b*tch. He got fired.”

This is bullshit reporting unfortunately
but that won’t stop it.
Russian hearsay that was debunked.
