Im in an 1962 Progressive where I have Crandall, Torre and Haller as my Catchers. ALL have A or A+ throwing ratings. However, I am 7th in the league with a 34% CS rate. Certainly the team w/ Elston Howard is a 60% but like 30 attempted steals whereas there have been 50+ attempts against me. So my question is..

Smaller sample size could be some of it and the mix of teams we have played will contribute as we do not have a balanced schedule but is there a rating or setting that deters a SB attempt because that catchers have great arms? I would think if so, there would be fewer attempts vs. my team than 6 others. Just curious. Was really hoping this to be a strength for the team but appears to just be a middle of the road thing.

take a look at the performance history for any catcher and you'll get a sense of the magnitude of it

Or is it due to manager settings.
wont a runner set at 5 run as often against any catcher?

yeah the manager settings have an impact as well, but i don't think a 5 setting negates the catcher arm impact. i could be wrong though i don't have any data to back up my point just an educated guess.

With an A+ arm, the SB attempts will decrease regardless of managerial settings. I’ve run SB teams before, and against C-D arm catchers will have upwards of 20 SB attempts a game, and against A-A+ arms will only have 2-4 a game typically. That’s with all my runner settings at 5.

Im sure you know this too, but not every A+ arm is created equally. Just like not every A+ fielding or range stat is the same, so some catchers will still perform better. I believe the attempted SB is based on the catchers CSPCT.
