its a Bill James stat that basically measures how much a player is contributing beyond hitting singles.

this is not something i would recommend looking at by itself. certainly guys who get a lot of extra base hits and walk a lot will be good sim players (minus home run only modern players because of home run normalization), but i think you're better off just looking at the individual components that factor into it.

Hi just me but I remember looking at this Stat before on the Offensive Players Advanced Stats Tab

View the Statistics Legend
SecA Secondary Batting Average ((tb - hits + bb + sb - cs) / ab)

Brought up 1919 Harry Heilmann from the WIS Championship $100M Theme #3 Draft Center

SecA .238 ............. Then there is

IsoP Isolated Power (SLG - AVG)
0.156
Contact Rate Ratio of making contact ((AB - SO)/AB)
0.924

Thank you. I see from contrarian23's post that it stands for secondary average. I know secondary average, I just didn't recognize the abbreviation SecA as referring to it.

Thanks all, I appreciate the help being updated on the shorthand for terms.

No. It's not used by the SIM to determine the outcome of a PA so it's never something I'd look at to draft players.
