2022 Players - who’s your favorite Topic

With just 3 days left in the regular season, who’re the guys that you’re most looking forward to trying out in the sim?

Degrom looks to be having another great partial.

obviously Judge will have a fun year, and I’m still mad that I won’t be able to utilize all of Ohtani.

Who else are you looking forward to?

deGrom got hit (relatively) hard his last two starts, was on track for another WHIP under .6 season

Verlander will be a monster, there will be so many good WIS pitcher seasons

Yeah, Alcantara, Fried, Cease, Manoah, Gausman, Bieber, Kershaw, Uriah, Scherzer….and those are just the first names that come to mind. I’m sure there’s a dozen I forgot to mention.

Ryan Helsley from the Cardinals and Emmanuel Clase from the Guardians look like great closers.

The Rays have a few good options as setup guys like Pete Fairbanks and Jason Adam. JP Feyereisen only has 24.1 IP and is on the 60-day DL otherwise he might be the best SIM reliever ever!

Evan Phillips from the Dodgers.

A Verlander that finally won’t give up a crap ton of homeruns

I haven’t been this disappointed in a RP not hitting 25 innings since Ryan Pressly didn’t get to 25 after his trade to Houston.

Also peep Chris Martin, almost made it to 25 innings WITHOUT A WALK! Took 23 innings before he issued his first one, sub .6 WHIP

They should lower the threshold for IP to 20 since so many relievers are used sparingly in modern baseball.

naw

they should put a fair price on everyone who has more than zero IPs or four PAs

you wanna spend a billion dollars on a guy with next to nothing that's up to you

We will be uploading these rosters at the end of the week once the regular season has concluded. We will post on the site once it's done.

Agree it's going to be fun opening the 2002 early Christmas presents. I have been paying attention to Cease given all the publicity he's received this season. My feeling is he won't translate well in the SIM; his bb/9 approaches 4 and he allows a lot of homers. didn't look up how his .190 OAV stacks up to the AL league average.
While, as a Giants fan, I wish they had kept Gausman, his OAV+ isn't going to knock my socks off.... I believe it's somewhere around .270.
Not trying to be contrarian, just sharing a few observations/thoughts.

Thank you for adding 2022 players so fast. That definitely renews interest in this site from us old timers.

Would you consider lowering the requirements for players to be added to the database?

There are a lot of pitchers with under 25 IP that would be very interesting to use.

Raisel Iglesias having a pretty season with the Braves.

Any guesses on Judge’s salary? It’s hard to find any comparable seasons, which tells you a lot. Feels like he should be over $10M, no?

Somewhere between Sosa's '98 and '01 seasons. I'm guessing $9-9.5M. Perhaps $10M if his fielding numbers are good. There's 20 seasons of 55+ dingers to compare to. He does strike out a lot. All of the $10M+ have .700 or higher SLG.
