NICE list!
Like the diversity and LOVE the Tom Robbins reads.
"Skinny Legs" is awesome and funny! and Jitterbug Perfume is charming as all get out.
And Hampton Sides classic too! Great historical tome.

Ever read any Pete Dexter?

I'm too embarrassed to post my 2021 list. Haven't read many books in the covid era, and what little I've read has been pretty trashy. I've mostly been reading true crime articles, a lot of them from the archives of Texas Monthly, which is a great source for that particular genre.

2022 has started off a bit better. Just finished The Sinner and the Saint (2021) by Kevin Birmingham, which tells the story behind Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment”: the events leading up to its writing, the difficult conditions under which it was written, and the notorious real life French murderer who gave Dostoevsky the initial spark of inspiration. Good job by the author, who obviously did a ton of research. Lots of terrific detail about 19th century Russian life, if you’re into that sort of thing.
