I've had Spahn his whole career so far in this prog (1946-57) and he's been great:

Looking at the best pitchers from the over 100 years of the two long term progs I'm currently in (1901-1957 and 1961-2012), I couldn't find anyone else who put together 11 consecutive 20-win seasons. If anyone reading this knows of a pitcher with a similar or better streak, please post it in this thread.
Make that 12 straight 20-win seasons for Spahn. And 1958 was even a little better than usual:

47-7!

Just had 1925 Walter Johnson finish a season in which he won the Cy Young Award by going 30-2, 2.64 ERA, 1.15 WHIP. A pretty good campaign.

But the most impressive part of the season may have been Walter's performance at the plate:
.493/.531/.700 in 150 AB with 15 doubles, 2 triples, 4 homers, and 38 RBI.

Eat your heart out Ohtani....

I’ve got an Ed Reulbach at 40-1 and received his first loss after 31-0 in an open league…at coors field…not sure if it’s worthy but maybe an honorable mention

Just saw a player (not mine) hit for the cycle in a 1959 prog. Not such a big deal, you say? Consider:

1. The player who hit for the cycle was pitcher Don Drysdale (real life line of .165/.198/.330/.528).
2. The pitchers he batted against own the best record and ERA in the league, and were all rested.
3. Drysdale did not get Player of the Game -- as his team lost, 11-10!

25 games into one of my OL seasons, 5 players are tied for second on my team's roster for HRs, and 2 of them are pitchers - 1991 Rijo and 1985 Reuschel with 1 Homer each.

Or, to put it another way, so far this season my pitchers have out-homered my infield. :)

The current Admin of WIS says the reason they canceled the Amazon "Gift Certificates" is because they are unpopular.

Yea, we are just that stupid.

From a 2013 progressive, here's a pretty hilarious way to get shut out:

Two of the Pilots' 15 hits were doubles, and three more batters got on base via walks.

Just as a kind of funny thing I’m in a prog league where DonaldJTrump drafted a player named Con Daily aka Daily, Con.
I could not resist.

1959, and Spahn's still chugging along! 13th consecutive 20-win season (also 13th consecutive 300-inning season).

Over the past two seasons he's 83-15!

I had Spahn reach 400 wins in a progressive league years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have any record of his season-by-season W-L. I think he went 34-1 in 35 starts one of those years.

One of my teams just advanced to the World Series, and I don't feel that great about it. The team we beat in the second round was owned by longtime WIS member wink0094, who passed away April 25 at the age of 41. A friend of his announced it in the league forum at the time, and all of us were pulling for him to make the playoffs and go all the way. Alas, it didn't happen ...

... in this league. He's still got three active teams left, all of them doing really well and on pace to make the playoffs in their respective leagues. Here's hoping wink gets at least one more ring.

RIP wink0094

His 1917 team is currently on pace to make the playoffs in my World Series theme. Will update here once the playoffs start.

His Milwaukee team in NebHusker's Eight is Enough Theme is playing .645 ball against a competitive league loaded with sharks and it started after his death. Truly incredible and I hope he wins it all. RIP
