I didn't say he started it. I said he led it. If you don't think Trump spearheaded the birther movement for years your penchant for watching Fox News must be pretty new.

But good job avoiding replying to the actual point, which is that Trump pretty well forfeited any right to complain about people making things up about him for political gain. He literally built his career on that.

As an example, we’ve done 45 million tests. If we did half that number, you’d have half the cases, probably around that number. If we did another half of that, you’d have half the numbers. Everyone would be saying we’re doing well on cases.

You can only defend Trump on two fronts here.

1. He banned travel from China in January, even though it was already too late.
2. COVID is a hoax/some sort of other conspiracy.

Either way, it's extremely weak.
Even the ban allowed 43k people back in from China with little and no testing.
