the story abt Trump not objecting to Russia paying to kill US troops has now been confirmed 9 different ways in recent days. Not 1 newspaper has called for Trump to resign. 100+ dailies demanded Bill Clinton leave office bc he uttered a single lie abt an affair.

It is well-established knowledge that humans are vastly more forgiving of sins of omission than sins of commission. I can't remember the study off the top of my head that found that a person near the switch that could change the tracks of a runaway street car is never blamed for not switching the tracks, even if there is a whole family standing on the track, but they will be blamed for changing tracks if it hits so much as a dog.

In other words, you would expect people to get more upset about something someone does. We're forgiving of what people don't do. Particularly given that a lot of people have a vague understanding of how many things the POTUS is briefed on and the difficulty in separating what's important from what's mostly noise.

Especially when the POTUS has all the intellectual power of a mossy stump.

How many newspapers called for resignations over Benghazi? We're not talking about far-right internet sources.

I'm fairly certain that Fox News had to have done so at least once in the five years that they freaked out over the story.

The difference, though, is that this scandal seems to have a lot more validity than Benghazi.

Especially because Trump is blatantly lying about not being aware of the story.
7/1/2020 11:07 AM
Is there anything Trump does not blatantly lie about?

so, one thing we know he doesn't lie about..although I don't think being honest about grabbing women by the bush (as you said) it something I'd be proud of.
