2 with 50 is gonna be tough. Not many use only 2 starters. Getting a Silver King to 80 is next to impossible. Cy Young's 511 might fall before that happens.

At the break I’m 59-22 with 25-9 Cy Young and 24-3 Ed Walsh. Crazy to think I’m on pace for 118 wins with a two man rotation and I’m not on track to get that bounty!

I just started my team for 80 wins. Currently my guy is 1-0 through 6 games. Gotta pick up the pace

Now 63-22...that's the 1908 Big Ed in an open league. He should be invincible...

Hello!

Some of you my remember me, some of you not, and others I’m sure have no idea who I am.

Just4me,

Who were you, EVER! ;-`

Who says it's gotta be Silver King...
5/13/2020 11:31 PM
Yeah, I'm not using Silver King, either. I've got Ed Seward (the current record holder for wins, by the way).

After 28 games Seward is 15-1, on pace for 86 wins. I think he's got an outside shot at 80, but who knows.

Yes I didn't mention Seward.

I am still trying out many 2 man combos, as well as 1/2a/2b. Varying effectiveness...

I considered a four man roatation of guys who throw 3ip and then a stud super reliever like Big Ed who can throw 125 games of 4ip relief. Has anybody tried this?

Yes, that's essentially how the current record of 78 was set. Scroll down to the third last post in this link for details.

That is basically the Superman strategy we began using years ago. Clarkson was the guy until salaries went up.

I have a few drafts to run then I will throw a Long A theme out there...feel free to shoot me an email if you have any bright ideas. My bulb is dimming.

Champs League record is only 51 wins. Better payouts there, yes? Same cap, yes?

I had this one teed up but don't want to start a new team now. Feel free to steal it! Four ~2.20 erc# guys to throw 3-3.5 ip/g followed by Big Ed for 4-5 ip/g for 120 games or so. There's also plenty of $ left over for the rest of the roster, including some bang up closers. What I'm struggling with is what to do with those Bid Ed middle innings for the other 40-50 games...

I'm doing something similar, but with two 200ish inning guys throwing 3-4 innings every other game, and Big Train Johnson coming in for 4-5.

The issue you mention has been the biggest hurdle. It's still early (I'm 13-5 and Walter is 7-1) but The games Johnson doesn't pitch, the rest of my bullpen gets a lot of use. So far we're Ok, but if I get one 12+ inning game it could cause some serious stress points ha
