I think the first two rounds will be more predictable but after that, it'll be a free for all with lots of different strategies employed.
I think your right

going forward, this is going to be much more difficult than I thought...

I think there was a tier after Magic - ....... and now things are about to get chaotic

Are we going to be on the clock at all? I think we should especially for this initial draft because it's 12 rounds, otherwise it's going to take forever and a day to get this done.

YES -
I think I remember that many of the full drafts have the first round OFF OF THE CLOCK

after that Molasses-paced first round - I think it may be necessary
?4 picks in a day leads to a 72 day draft...

but hey, lets look at the good side of a slower paced opening:
at least it is easier to keep up with who has already been selected -lol

I'm getting my draft list ready and researching as we speak -
oh and developing GREAT lesson plans for my students -

FWIW, here's another vote for some sort of clock, starting in round 2.

agreed

would you forward a suggestion as to how far out to set the clock??

drafting this theme and making decisions is only going to get harder...

just think when your considering 3 years out (sophomores) and 4 year freshman....
and pouring through the glut of available players....

(i cant wait) lol

1 round a day would still be an 11 day draft after the first round.

Given the nature of this Draft, I think that's the fastest we could do it. That still means 1/2 draft slots, which isn't much for this format. Of course, with no trades to consider, owners should be ready.

The reason imo we do off the clockRD1 is so people know that the draft has started. For inaugural drafts like this, my understanding was everyone opens the SM besides ol’ smoke.

trying to get 24 picks in a day might be difficult but how about 12 picks a day starting in round 2 with a scheduled time starting at 10 am and going throuh 10 pm if a person has a 12 pm time for his selection and does not make the choice by the next scheduled rime 1pm then the next manager can make his choice the manager who was skipped can still make a selection but managers following can only make their choice at their scheduled time unless we are caught up then they just make their selection. it would help to move this draft along.

I would suggest 1 hour time slots to give people a little more time. It is only one time we do it this way (meaning 12 rounds) plus what the hell else is there to do. With that said, I would be fine with 30 minute times too.

Just like SIM playoffs we should go on the clock the day after the first round ends.

However we handle it I'm fine with but we need to make sure someone doesn't get skipped more than 1 round because it'll get ugly

Yeah I think one hour time slots with 12 picks a day would be what I recommend. This draft in particular requires a lot of research.

all good points

it is the loooooong gaps between a few of our selections that is almost torture
4/7/2020 3:27 PM
thoughts or opinions about how we think the draft may unfold???

predictions or gut feeling about what is going to happen (strategies)

(Im holding my cards close to the vest) -

but I am trying to balance each of the three classes to some degree
(not having 3 point guards or 3 centers all in the same class)
