I think it's better to be the last pick. Then you get first choice in higher dollar value categories. 5,7,>9. I get first choice in the lower dollar value categories. <5,6,8. Draft maybe should be 8 rounds with ABBA format to smooth out the "average value of draft placement". Both are still better than the middle.
I will have to say knowing that I ahead of time that I have certain guys guaranteed has helped alot when planning, especially the first pick of the 9+ players
