As a libertarian, I want government out of my life completely. California is now requiring companies to have at least 1 woman on their board of directors by the end of 2019 and must have at least 2 by the end of 2021. Government should not be involved in companies decisions. This is major government overreach.

I agree. I am against affirmative action, I think it is a step but not the right way to improve equality in America.

As for the government out of life completely, well, I think that is silly.

We all have government protections. It doesn't give the government the right to intrude on our lives. It should work the same for businesses. It's the government's job to protect.

Okay, I agree that when businesses start taking handouts from the government they have now sold their sole and relinquished their freedoms. This creates crony capitalism and is very dangerous.

We all have government protections but there are times when we waive our rights in exchange for something else.

For instance, when you open a bank (or other public accommodation), you give up the right to discriminate against your customers on the basis of religion.

Open a private club or church, feel free to discriminate. Open a bank, restaurant, etc., give up that right.

This brings up another interesting point and shows why your logic is flawed. Government screws everything they touch up. That's a fact. For instance, in effort to prevent discrimination, the government actually discriminates. A good example of this is the Oregon baker.

Not 'everything.' I would argue that in many cases, the private sector is more flawed than the government, so long as the people hold government accountable.

But at least the people have some say in government.

The market holds the private sector accountable. Issues arise when the government gets involved with private sector.

But it clearly doesn't. People still use facebook.

Obviously the market has determined that FaceBook wasn't worthy of banishment for their "sins. This is my problem with the left. They feel that they get to draw all lines for everything instead of letting them occur naturally.

First off, I am against anti-discrimination laws anyways. The market takes of discrimination on its own. The government actually had to put discrimination laws into place because the market wasn't discriminating for them. People don't care who they sell to. They just want the money. Why should he stop using that term? People have been grouped politically by left and right for many years.
