I'm pretty sure that we squashed that a couple of seasons ago.

1st pick of round 5 was Jamal Tinsley. Was not expecting that.

Calderon won't start. Depth chart looks like this:

James 18 / Calderon 30
?
Horford 27 / James 17
Drummond 32
Davis 30

16-17 Horford and 07-08 Calderon.

Interesting. Not sure what the plan is at SG, but this seems likely to result in some lineups with way too much usage and some lineups with not enough. Even with Drummond, offensive rebounding is pretty weak, though you may make enough shots that it won't really matter. Defense is going to be a real struggle as well. This team is gonna play some fun 138-135 games, though I'm not sure whether it's more likely to win most of them or lose most of them.

I only need defense at the 2. We foul and turn the ball over so little that I don’t think Calderon and Drummond can give up enough points to lose games that way, but since I don't need any more usage, I might as well just get a low usage defender who is reasonably efficient and doesn't make mistakes. Plenty of guys left who can get offensive rebounds from the 2. I'll fill in the usage gaps with a strong bench, which I can definitely afford. As long as LeBron or Davis is on the floor, I should be good on usage.

question for the panel: which is worse, a turnover or a foul?

Yeah, a lot of it's going to depend on who's left when it gets back to you (and who slips through the draft without being taken). I think it's going to be harder than you think to fill the SG position with guys who give you defense, efficiency, and offensive rebounding without hurting you elsewhere, but there are worse needs to have to fill in the 6th round. I know one guy who can check most of those boxes who doesn't get drafted all that often, and it may be who you're targeting.

You're also likely to have to fill a lot of minutes with undrafted players, which is not a major issue but can be difficult depending on what you're trying to get from them. Plenty of good players who can work at this cap go undrafted every year, but it's not always easy to fit those guys to the needs your team has.

And as for usage, I agree you're fine as long as one of Lebron or AD are on the floor. But when both are on the floor you're likely to have too much usage, and when neither is on the floor you're likely to have enough. And unfortunately, WIS (or whatever this new company is called) has not seen fit to make the minor updates to this SIM that would allow us better control of which 5-man lineups are on the floor at once. So you're going to have a few times when your team inexplicably falls apart, you go to look at the play-by-play, and wonder why the stupid SIM would plant both LBJ and Davis on the bench for the same 7-minute stretch in the second quarter.

I definitely have a plan or two.

im not feeling my team at all...one guy could possibly change that but i still dont feel good about it

as for the other teams...im gonna try a new draft eval format where i go over every pick made and tell you who i would have picked in that spot...should be fun

can i just say i had no idea Elton Brand would be hired as Sixers GM, or i would have tried a little harder to make an impression

More Turnovers than I wanted, but Jerry West this late in the game provides me with a good defender and allows me to feature Pierce as a mostly SG.

PG - 85/86 Maurice Cheeks @40MPG
SG - 88/89 Michael Jordan @40MPG
SF - 02/03 Shawn Marion @41MPG
PF - 87/88 Roy Tarpley @28MPG and 15/16 Kenneth Faried @20MPG

Tarpley and Faried are exactly who I was hoping to get in that position. 30.4 OReb% and 48.0 DReb% combined. Getting backups for the other starters will be easy given the money that should be left over. Everyone minus Faried has a GP/MPG that closely resembles their stat lines. So hoping it will translate as a unit.
