If I knew all these years that one guy was running this show, I never would've invested all this money into this hobby. So, I will be moving on from WIS. It used to have so much potential. And there were so many people interacting with it. Now... I don't want to be part of another sports gambling site.

As a famous author put it, So long and thanks for all the fish!

Didn't realize these forums still existed.

Hi guys.
Hey gin, how's Jackson Pollock doing?
Somewhere between average and mediocre, as expected.

Topped the division until recently, probably going to collapse soon. As expected.

Seble just said that there are funds allocated towards a second worker and that he is actively searching. Also if the current users continue to advocate and support the site new owners will be plentiful once the integration with SportsHub is complete.

This whole thing says a lot about new ownership. They know they have a potentially great new product and their action is to make seble do all the integration work and the hiring as well as updates to sim engines and customer service. That seems about as hands off as possible and doesnt bode well for positive change to the site. If anything - as others have noted- it will slow everything down as seble gets further in the weeds. If they won't help the site now, when will they?

A user base doesn't instantly monetize in people's minds like it once did. And products, pfft I'd rather have an idea to sell.

This is a group that is taking that shotgun approach to recruiting, scooping up a bunch of left-behind sport-related stuff and mashing it together to see what it turns into. I'm guessing these Minnesota dudes (where the hell is that anyway?) don't know WIS from the 9 other things they purchased at the same time. And they don't need to, at least a couple will work out long term and it doesn't really matter which ones they are.

Seble is the only shot WIS has to still exist this time next year. Should probably let him focus on what the new captors of WIS want to see instead of hockey stat updates or whatever. One day, providence tells us we shall be returned back to TK. And not just any TK, but a TK who's embrace resembles that of a father who has recognized his wrongs and seeks to remedy by dedicating his life to making them right. And then we will vote on whether to forgive him, or hang him from the nearest street lamp. I think Covington has the big ones.
A user base does instantly monetize by spending money on teams, or why else would they buy the site? 2018 NBA players not being available helps no one when new users go to search rosters.

Hopefully we do get a bunch of new users and that kickstarts things.

Seble, what abilities are you looking for in a potential hire? Do you have a listing somewhere? If you share it here. perhaps someone who already likes and knows the site could be capable and interested.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

I work in IT. It is a tight job market and really hard to find and hire people right now. Even if you do, someone is out there hunting for them immediately. Good luck in the search Seble.

Seble what needs to be done 1) change the header, 2) change service provider, 3) integrate the Wallet. Hopefully the WiS format and cost structure will remain the same as in the past. If this integration change the format of WiS then I suspect that most of the current WiS owners will stop playing. If it's a nickle & dime fest I suspect all the WiS owners will stop playing. So....will the WiS format remain unchanged??

As part of the sale, I've taken over management of the site. For those who aren't familiar with me, I've been a part of WIS since the beginning, nearly 18 years now. Over that time, I've worked in some capacity on pretty much every part of the site. My main focus for a long period of time was been Hoops Dynasty, and SimLeague Basketball before that.

I'm really excited about the opportunity that SportsHub has given me, and I promise to work as hard as I can to improve WIS. Over the next few months, we'll be focusing on transitioning the site fully to SportsHub on the technical side of things. During that time, you won't see too many changes, so it should be business as usual. Once the transition is complete, we'll begin mapping out ways to better integrate with the SportsHub network in ways that make sense. We'll also start gathering feedback and planning out ways to improve the games.

For right now, I'll be pretty much a one-man show, with some help on the support side. That will be a temporary situation though, as we'll be expanding our staff down the road. In the meantime, I ask for some patience when it comes to dealing with any site issues and in responding to support tickets.

Feel free to post comments/questions in this thread and I'll do my best to address them over the next few days.

Thanks,
Scott

Tired of the BS and the excuses...it has been happening for too long. I've been told 4 different dates as to when basketball might be updated, 3 of them have come and gone already. For those of us that have been faithful users of WhatIf for many years, and use the platform for competitive leagues, it is too hard to rely on a site that doesn't value itself or its subscribers.
