So my aunt is very much anti Putin and wanted someone else in. My cousin and her son (younger) love Putin and how he makes the country seem strong. Opinions vary, I guess? IDK. Not a place I want to live or even visit.

That being said I'd rather have them as an ally not an adversary. In WWII, Stalin was a bad guy but he was a necessary ally to the US and to England vs. the evil Nazis.

I always find it funny that 3 cousins started WWI.

No doubt. I was just trying to put myself in the mind frame of a Russian. I wish Great Britain had come down on him much harder.

the sanctions the us talked about were strictly some sanctions that were supposed to already be imposed and sanctions on the people mueller already filed charges against......toothless....nothing new of any substance to support Britain.

My relatives in Russia speak very highly of the US and there friends, etc. have nothing but respect for the US. There is zero animosity toward the US from the Russian people as I understand it. Not the same from Islamist countries. IMO that is our biggest threat and by a wide margin.

you are wrong by a wide margin. Russia just hijacked our entire Democratic process and has the same arsenal we do.
