As a Father of 3 (former) college students. I can speak with some credibility here.
Tuition is what it is......... too high!
The rest of it is NOT 100% legitimate.
For example. Textbooks. They're expensive. Sometimes in the 100's of dollars per class/per semester.
BUT, that's for NEW textbooks. There is a used market. Even a website devoted to it called half.com I think it was.
You can literally turn 1000's of cost into mere 100's!! seriously. Most good colleges and universities have used book exchange thru the school book store. The U of A does! In fact the associated Student body RUNS the bookstore at Arizona. All profits go to the students.
Room & Board is what it is, too. They need it somewhere!! They can stay in expensive dorms.......... OR share housing with students, or live at home and commute daily (travel costs!), or you know, sacrifice, get part-time jobs, etc.
Many of my wives were strippers going thru college...........you do what you have to do......... hahaha
