Boris, in your opinion.......... is it even possible to be pro-Peace (including for the Palestinians!) and NOT anti-Israel?
Because, IMO, we have been (as a Country) so one-sided in our support for Israel that we rarely call them out over activities that the whole world finds objectionable (even MOST Americans!)........PLUS, Israel is an established Country, with a powerful military, a functioning society, and it's people live in a fairly civilized and productive, (mostly happy) and unfettered lifestyle.
It's time for them to stand on their OWN 2 feet without this constant (yearly) inflow of American dollars and support.
OUR Government broke (lied in legal agreements) nearly every "peace" treaty we EVER signed with the Native Americans who inhabited this land before we took it (by force and whatever means available) and we have done little or NOTHING for those peoples whom we enslaved on pieces of this continent that we (at the time) figured were worthless and we didn't need! They are nearly wards of the state, with the highest incidents of social problems (poverty, disease, etc) of virtually ANY group of peoples you could name.
THEY (now) are Americans! Maybe it's time we cut off the FOREIGN aid (to places like Israel) and START taking care of our OWN peoples! Perhaps even try and figure out ways we can attempt to abide by the legal agreements we made with these people's!!
So, what's the difference between our long-term (expensive) support for Israel and our indifference to the Native Americans????
IMO, it's simple. CLOUT!!! The Jewish people have VERY rich and powerful friends amongst our citizenry. (Indeed in places all over the Globe).
The Jewish people own banks, media conglomerates, etc. and have HUGE influence with the elite moneyed interests of our society (and Gov't!).
Not so much for the Indians. They don't have extensive financial holdings. They don't own powerful media conglomerates. They just wanted peace, and a PIECE of their own land to try and exist. We haven't kept our commitment to them.......... at ALL!
I have no axe to pick with the Israeli's or their Country! BUT, enough!! Time to take care of our OWN! Time to honor our OWN governmental obligations with our own people's!! Before we send another copper penny to Israel!!! Or any other FOREIGN Gov't!
You see Boris........... you are so so wrong about one thing (at LEAST) in our Country. The FACT that institutional racism exists!! It does, absolutely, and always has. You are correct in that (where blacks and browns, and yellows) in some concerns, that that institutional racism is codified and prohibited BUT it still happens. Those that want to, find ways around the "code". And as far as the Red man is concerned, the institutionalized racism has NEVER ebbed.
Last week a study (originally done 50 years ago) on institutionalized racism was revisited. A new look was taken at the results of the study to compare with our CURRENT situation as regards institutional racism. You should look up the research and the conclusions of this study. (I wish I could remember the name of the study---- too old and feeble a memory).......... I know you won't believe me if I told you the results, but it should be easy to google.
I promise, you'll learn something. That is, IF you can ever accept facts that disagree with your inherent bias. That I find questionable!
