Oh, it will never happen. It's too simple, but the fed gov't would save money right away simply because they could shrink the IRS ten-fold. With it, the column that matters is gross income.

Change potential to probable. I don't think it's a definite increase. If done right, lower taxes can lead to more revenue. There is a myth that businesses pocket extra income. This is not true. Most of that money is reinvested.

I'm guessing you haven't read the tax plan and are only listening to the talking heads. They did away with a lot of itemized deductions, but raised the standard deduction. Taxes will go down for most people. For the bottom 50% of earners taxes can't go down any further. They already don't pay anything. Most of the wealthy did not "luck" into their money. It was earned. That's fine. Gives us 8 years to renew it. I am personally for abolishing deductions and lowering the rates. We can keep an escalating system and if you want to set to the bottom 20% (picked random number because I haven't done the math) at a 0% rate that's fine. It would make the system more difficult to cheat.

Your faith in our government doing something for the unwashed masses is admirable.

I have never had a business meeting for any of my businesses where "I said let's do nothing with this money." It is always "how can we use this money to grow the business." This is how most businesses work.

I apologize, but I don't remember which beer company you're with, but I guarantee the owners' mindsets there are the same.

yep - the doomsday figures from libs are scare tactics focusing on 8-10 years out... the elections in 8 years will be all about RENEWING the standard deduction for the low to middle class. Republicans know this puts them at and advantage over the dems during those elections. They'd have made the deduction increase permanent but they have to do this through reconciliation which means they have to stay within the $1.5 trillion they budgeted out over 10 years. So they are backloading this baby to make it work under these rules. In 2018 they will win a larger majority on the senate, maybe even 60 seats.

I have never worked with an employer of any consequence who did not reinvest that money for growth of the company and their own welfare as well as the engine of that growth, the employees and extended family.
