Are sportswriters really "authority"?
I'm loud at a bar. 3 sportswriters say "Hey, bud, tone it down". I give them the finger.

Sometimes I see something you write and I say to myself, well he’s clearly ******* around. He doesn’t mean this.
Then I remember that you argued Edgar Martinez walked too much.
No one thinks sportswriters are legal authorities. But they control who gets into the Hall. In this context, they are an authority.
As tec can now tell you, it’s a logical fallacy to appeal to authority.
