Or you could just say, "well, yeah, that was dumb. Obviously, a hitter reaching base is a good thing. I don't think EM was a hall of famer and I was trying to throw out as many reasons as possible. Didn't really think it through."

The name of the game is scoring runs. It's not as flashy as the high OBP but scoring runs is what wins games. It's like the simple choice of who you'd rather have at the plate with the game on the line.
Just curious, which team do you think scores more runs per game:

Team A, all 9 hitters have an OBP/SLG of .500/.250 (tons of walks)
Team B, all 9 hitters have an OBP/SLG of .250/.500 (very few walks, lots of power)

Pretty sure that (3) was me listing reasons why I wouldn't put him in the HOF.

But, then again, yanking your chain over EM and Kenny Lofton has been sport for many of us for quite some time.

If you consider bringing up your embassaing “EM walked too much” comment yanking my chain, yank away.

What were Edgar's career numbers against Brad Radke?
11/13/2017 6:02 PM
I'd say EM dominated Radke. Mike would say that Radke actually came out ahead because EM wussed out and drew walks against him.

Carlos Beltran announced his retirement today and the drum beat has begun for him as a future HOFer. I say no. What say the community?
There's no PED rumors right?

It's amazing how every time Mike or Tec mention Edgar or Kenny BL almost IMMEDIATELY grabs his ankles. He just loves the punishment.

I'd normally ask DougOut to post a Cartman cat pic but I'm fairly certain I'm not his favorite person anymore.

IDK about that. Mike talking EM is like Democrats talking about Gun Control. They keep bringing it up even though they lose everytime

If you think it's about "winning" a discussion then you've missed the point.

As I told some dude in HD the other day, if you think there are "winners/losers" in internet arguments, you don't understand the internet.
11/14/2017 9:00 AM
It’s true. We all win when mike ventures into the EM walked too much argument.
11/14/2017 9:03 AM
A good example.

BL considers this a "win". Not sure why.
I consider this a "win". First, because BL always responds within minutes. It's like he's set up a warning system on his device. "MikeT talking Edgar. Please respond immediately!!!" Second, because BL digs up a single sentence from a 10 page discussion from 5 years ago to prove his "point". Then he has to explain why "walked a great deal" = "walked too much". Poorly. Finally, because BL somehow thinks he's "winning".
11/14/2017 9:10 AM
To be clear why this is funny, BL lives in CA. It took him 3 minutes, at 6 AM, to respond.
