I love that moy uoted this from Wooden:
Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who’ll argue with you.”

It seems like if anyone argues with you here, they are dumb liberals. I guess if someone was smart, they'd agree with you, right? So there's no arguing with smart people for you.
You libs are my charity project, not my mentors.
I also like how anyone who disagrees with you is a "lib".

It is true that the Bush admin and the Obama transition team worked together to implement policies to attack the problem and try to stabilize the economy.......... so YES, the Bush admin can take some credit for the Obama era economic stabilization and continued recovery. It was adults doing their job, contrary to what we see going on now............
How do you explain all the reporting from the left during the election that if Trump is elected the economy will be in a free fall... Yet Trump gets elected and the economy kicks into another gear? Do you think the prospect of deregulation and lower corporate taxes had anything to do with it? 3% GDP growth in 2 straight quarters (and this last one included two massive hurricanes).
No one said the economy would automatically go into free fall. They said that if Trump was able to implement his policy ideas, it would. So far, he's been too incompetent to actually implement any policy.

But not funding the cost sharing reductions and trying to increase taxes on the poor and middle class are good starts to tanking the economy.
Another fair point.... Really its shocking how little he has got done.
Eradicating ISIS
illegal border crossings way down
Wage growth, 3% gdp, and market bump thanks to massive deregulation
Gorsuch + lots of other judges already confirmed (4 more next week)
2 major hurricanes

^^^9 months
1. Again, ISIS was going to die no matter what.
2. This is debatable as an actual good thing.
3. Again, debatable whether this is him.
4. Only actual thing he has done, but with GOP controlling everything, it was not that hard.
5. Is this a good thing? "I have the hugest hurricanes". It was 3 btw, lots of people tend to forget puerto rico, including the president.
1. Under Obama ISIS ballooned from 700 to 40,000 members.
2. It is A GREAT THING. not even debatable.
3. You do agree that Trump has rolled back a **** ton of regulations, no? Just wait till corporate taxes are cut to 20%!!! And let me ask you this... In 8 years Obama wasn't putting up 3% GDP growth or any wage growth.... Why is it happening all of a sudden, NOW?
4. Considering Dems are slow walking this process I wouldn't say it's a cakewalk.
5. No... But they certainly are 'priorities' he needed to take care of in his first 9 months.
1. That's the same argument as saying that it is Abraham Lincoln's fault for the civil war, because it happened under his watch. ISIS was as a result of previous presidents, Obama helped defeat them, although they were doomed from the start.
2. Sure. I will give this one to Trump.
3. .... because Obama helped fix the economy and it carried over... I would argue that we need to tax corporations MORE, at least the big, international ones.
4. ... Republicans control the House, Senate, Sup. Court, AND the White House. Cakewalk is the best word here.
5. Sure. I would say that he handled Harvey and Irma about average. Maria, not so much. I would call that a wash.

I will give Trump credit for Gorsuch and illegal immigration. After that, he has been 'meh'. His supporters should expect more.

Although Ronald Reagan has been the most successful President in our lifetime, TRUMP has gotten more done in his first year. And he's done it while being totally stonewalled by the democrats and the press and with only minimal support from the elitist swamp-dweller Republicans.

And he has really only done 2 things.

Meanwhile he's been draining the swamp and clobbering the media. This Russia scandal is doing wonders to show just how corrupt the Obama administration was.... And how inept our media was at covering any of it.

The long time ramifications of the 200 or so court appointments will be HUGE, including the supreme court (2-3 more could need to be replaced).

Let's not forget Trump dropped MOAB on Syria to send a message to Russia, ISIS, Syria, and the world that he's not thin-skinned like Obama was when red lines are crossed.

I've told you all from the start that first Trump will break these guys down, before building then back up. Establishment Repubs like McCain, Corker, Flake... Pretty much gone... The rest of the never trumpers are falling in line now. It's just beginning.... FASTER THAN I THOUGHT.

Dear Tang:

WE thought you said he DIDN'T have control over his staff.
IF he controls the Senate, then why doesn't he always get 52 votes?
He kinda controls the House, but this next election the VOTERS need to primary out a good 50 or so MODERATE-LIB-RINOs.
IF HE controls the Supreme Court, why haven't they just gone and proclaimed him emperor for life?

AND ONE OTHER THING: Did you unblock me? You keep talking to me. It's OK if you did. I don't have anybody blocked.

I don't understand why Trump supporters keep saying he is "draining the swamp.." He has hired a bunch of lobbyist (I thought they WERE the swamp) or he hires people who have no experience or business doing what he hired them to do(Betsy DeVos comes to mind).
10/27/2017 3:24 PM
That's a typical spin effort Wylie, but you need to elaborate...and you can't. Quick easy cop-out for you.

Please list the lobbyist (FORMER GOV'T)

ON THE OTHER HAND....hiring accomplished people people with no prior exp. @ GOV is the definition of draining the swamp.

10/27/2017 3:45 PM
Yeh, you can't drain the swamp by hiring different swamp people.

1. GOOD. GET THE CROOKS OUT... But that includes 'ol Donny.
2. Wonderful. That is one thing.
3. When this is a crowning accomplishment of your first year, you are in trouble.
4. The falling apart of the establishment will be the end of Trump..... the GOP does not need Trump.... but Trump needs the GOP. BERNIE/WARREN 2020.

Seriously? My point was that the fact that the GOP has the MAJORITY in everything means that it is only incompetence to blame for why DT has alienated everyone, including members of his own party.

I don't see businessmen and women as swamp people... I see them as people with experience running a PROFITABLE endeavor. For too long lifetime politicians have made a habit of spending other people's money, without any consequence or accountability. It's these people that need to leave DC. It's the congressmen that voted 60 times to repeal Obamacare when it didn't matter and caved when it did matter.

I love that Trump fired Flynn, why? Because Flynn LIED to his face... Not because the media pressured Trump to do so. I love that Price was fired for abusing tax payer money. Prior Administrations had no issue with using tax payer money on private jets... even when caught prior Administrations wouldn't hold anyone accountable... Trump did hold Price accountable. It's a culture of accountability (when you peel away the media spin) that Trump is creating.

He's called out McConnell for saying Trump doesn't understand Washington DC and has unrealistic expectations of congress to move quickly. He's called out Republicans for having 8 years to fix Oblundercare and not having a plan.

Honestly, look at the people Trump has brought in.... Can you show me how they benefited financially from their position in his cabinet? Can you point out specifics like Russia gets 20% of us uranium at the same time a family member gets $500k speaking fees and $145 million is deposited to the family foundation? I can't.

I know that facts don't matter to you, but the uranium deal was above board and Clinton had no say in whether or not the sale of the private company was approved. She wasn't even on the committee that approved the sale. And the State Dept was one of NINE agencies that had to sign off on the deal.

Also, all but $4 million of the $145 million came from Frank Guistra and he sold all of his stake in the Uranium One company 18 months before Clinton became SOS and three years before Russia bought it.

He's out there on his own with only the American people to support him.
