Who really cares, though? I'm sure I'm not the first person to notice this, but isn't it antithetical to the spirit of rock and roll (briefly: youth, rebelliousness, non-conformity, coolness, not caring what the establishment squares think of you) to have a hall of fame? Isn't a hall of fame nothing more than official recognition from establishment squares?

i wonder if there will be a big lawsuit against the manufacturer of the bump stock.
The manufacturer is not responsible for the murders, no more than a truck manufacturer whose driver mows people down with it. Twice, Obama's ATF approved the sale of bump stocks.

Here's a press release from the NRA regarding their sale...

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/10/05/nra-calls-for-atf-review-bump-stocks-new-regulations-after-las-vegas-shooting.html

“The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations,” the NRA said in a written statement.

Anyone proposing abolishing the Second Amendment is a loon. The vast majority of Americans are in favor of private citizens maintaining the right to bear arms. Most weapons are purchased for self defense. Removing firearms from citizens would cause murder rates to rise. Would be assailants would not hesitate to enter a home if they are confident the resident does not possess a weapon for defense. With over 300 million weapons in circulation, the death toll from Federal agents attempting to confiscate said weapons would be staggering. Machine guns have been banned since the days of Capone. Assault rifles are banned. Modifiers of semi automatic weapons should be as well.

the modifiers are inherintly dangerous for their intended purpose....i predict a lawsuit.

Dude, the sale is legal. Federally approved. For now. How they are used is not the manufacturer's doing. If you own a gun shop, legally sell me a firearm, you are not at fault if I use the weapon for malicious purposes. Personally I think the bump stocks should be banned. We shall see.

There is at least one manufacturer that has suspended sales.

Just curious, what are some "unmalicious" purposes these bumps stocks could be used for? Seems to me that "killing a ton of people really fast" is more or less the intended purpose, isn't it?

I see no good use for them. I countered Dino's comment regarding a lawsuit against the manufacturers. They should be banned, IMO.

The NRA is calling for the feds to look into the matter. About time. They never should have been allowed in the first place...that is a military only use item.

The problem as I see it is that no matter what we do for gun control, it won't help too much. The criminals are the ones we don't want to have guns, and being criminals, they don't really care about the law. I'm in favor of stricter gun control, but I don't know how much it will accomplish.

rock and roll hall of fame nominations came out today...the 7 i would like to see get in:

1. cars
2. depeche mode
3. dire straits
4. j. geils ban
5. moody blues..............glaring omission considering they are from the 60s
6. radiohead
7. zombies.....................glaring omission considering they are from the 60s

some artists who if not in are richly deserving :

1. b- 52s
2. devo
3. the jam
4. aimee mann
5. graham parker
In my opinion, Dire Straits should be in. Zombies as well. Aimee Mann is great as is Graham Parker. The rest of those listed I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. I think I posted before that I saw the Moody Blues in what I think was my first concert (it was either them or Blood, Sweat & Tears) and they put me to sleep. They were boring.

days of future past album puts them in for me....maybe they are not a good live band...or sound was bad....or maybe it was nights in white satin.
