When you have to pick between drowning and burning to death, you still have to pick.

One HAD to be a better option.

There may be much more involved in Comey's dismissal. There were many leaks. Several reporters had keen insight on Comey. Perhaps he leaked more than once. Perhaps Trump knew, or suspected this. Is no excuse for what Trump told NBC's Lester Holt,, but it would make it easier to understand why he fired him.
