It wasn't Trump that recommended he be fired. Remember the letters from Rosenstein and Sessions? Why do you think they wrote those letters?

"In remarks to Senate and House members in separate closed sessions this week, the deputy attorney general acknowledged that he learned of Trump's decision to remove Comey the day before he wrote and delivered his May 9 assessment about Comey's conduct in the Clinton probe. Comey was fired later that same day."

I didn't say it was illegal, but don't say that the reason he fired him was because of the letter.

Point is... It doesn't matter. There's no proof. It's he said, she said.... and yet the letters were still written. There's no crime here. All the lawyers have to point to is both Republican and Democrat public comments about Comey's incompetence over the last 6 months. There's plenty of them out there on both sides.

There's been NO CRIMES committed. At BEST.... BL is able to point out a potential crime which has NEVER been successfully prosecuted and the last attempt was in 1803.... That's EIGHTEEN O THREE!!! Over 200 years ago.

They did step on their tongues. Changed their story more than once about the firing.

But Trump runs the Executive Branch. Can fire anyone, at any time. Can order an investigation stopped. Congress and the Judicial provide checks/balances regarding misconduct. But he was within his right.
