Comey should have been fired in january, not right after he announced he was investigating trump for realz.

Dems would have gone apeshit had Trump fired Comey in January. Trump was never going to make them happy no matter when he fired Comey.

I think it's hilarious though.... Comey was a terrible director by all accounts, dems and republicans. What makes Dems so sure he'd be able to indict Trump? He couldn't nail Hillary on the servers or the foundation. He couldn't get apple to create a backdoor on the San Bernardino phone. He couldn't find anyone to prosecute for the IRS investigations.

Seriously, what would give anyone the idea that Comey could make a case against Trump? After 1 year they still have no evidence Trump did anything criminal.

I agree with the timing of Comey's firing. Very corporate-like. Bring in Comey's new boss in February (sessions). I wouldn't fire Comey or anyone before I had their new boss in place no matter what industry I'm working in. So for me, firing Comey in January would be premature. Next sessions brings in Rosenstein as deputy director. Much like corporate USA you bring in your people first before you just start firing everyone. Now you have Rosenstein and Sessions building a case to terminate Comey well before his 10 year term is up. Firing the FBI director is unusual, thus if I were Trump I'd want an ironclad case built as to why I'm firing the guy. He had Sessions and Rosenstein (confirmed in April by a 96-4 Senate vote) build that case. I don't think Trump was lying about wanting to fire Comey on day one... But firing people on day one is not how corporate USA works. What is very corporate-like is to move the other pieces in play before firing an individual.
