I don't care what color a person is, if I'm a cop going into a situation where someone has a gun, I'm going to be a little nervous.
We should probably reconsider our gun laws then, huh.

Lotta NRA people always talking about how more people carrying guns makes everyone safer. Maybe that's just bullshit?

So sad the story about the cops killing these guys without any warning.

More people who were killed by cops.

Everything starts at "racist" in BL's worldview. And he'll see racism everywhere, even where it doesn't exist. Because BLM is one of his big pet causes, and "everything is racist" is the foundation of BLM.
This is pretty much spot on. It's racism until proven not to be with BL.

BL sees: Racist cops shoot unarmed black man on phone with wife asking if Jr would like a BB gun.
Others see: Possible armed terrorist/gang member coordinating an attack.

We live in both worlds but there's far too much of the latter to just assume he's harmless. He's casually holding a weapon in what is like a crowded store.

FWIW, I'm wary of most young people. Young people do stupid **** because they're young and invincible. There are no consequences for their actions. At least that's how it was when I was young. I can't imagine young people are more thoughtful these days.

All this talk about police killing blacks, but no talk about blacks killing blacks. I never understand that. Why are the few black deaths at the hands of police such a huge issue and a hot political topic, but blacks killing themselves at a much, much, much higher rate is seemingly never worried about?

Black Lives Matter - except when taken by another black who's a non-cop? Seriously, why the massive double-standard of concern?
If someone is killed by a non-cop and that non-cop is found, they're arrested, charged, and go to trial. There's justice for the victim.

If someone is killed by a cop, the victim doesn't always get the same justice.
Time for you to check-out what % of non-police shootings actually result in an arrest.
It will once again prove how incredibly stupid you are.
Let's say a non-police shooting is on video, the police know who the shooter is and where to find him.

They'll likely arrest and charge the killer, correct?
So now you're only worried about shootings that get caught on video?
You're not at all concerned about the thousands of blacks who get shot by other blacks every year that aren't on video?
Where is your crusade to stop that violence? Why the fight against dozens instead of thousands?
Sounds like we know who the real racist is.

A friend of mine (actually, a good friend of my wife) went off the deep end with BLM last summer. I had respected her as an intelligent, highly educated woman up until then, But it became kind of difficult to maintain that level of respect afterwards.

She was posting all sorts of **** daily on Facebook about BLM, and how the "All Lives Matter" response was a blatant attempt to trivialize BLM, blah, blah, blah. I made the mistake of responding about how "All Lives Matter" was not, in fact, racist, but that it was an all-inclusive view.

My comments were IMMEDIATELY dismissed by her because I couldn't possibly have an appropriate perspective on the subject "as an upper middle class white American male" (her exact words). The ironic part was that she apparently felt that she had the absolutely perfect perspective on all matters involving race as an upper middle class white American female. Such hypocrisy.

Then, the next day, she posted something from Huffington Post, an editorial or some such crap, about how ALL white people are inherently racist because they are white and privileged and "don't know what it's like" to be black.

And all I could think of was how MLK Jr.'s message of "I have a dream that one day my children will be judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" in 1963 somehow turned into "all white people are racist because they're white" in 2016 by the BLM folk.

I'm pretty sure that she and BL would get along just fine.

So the protests and riots didn't make you more uncomfortable around black people???

You're friend is probably dumb, but you know why "all lives matter" is a ****** response to "black lives matter," right?

I should state that I wouldn't get the near the hairy skinheads or grubby rednecks that BL posted if I saw them in Wal-Mart. They're young with guns. Probably a bad idea to interact with them. Almost positive the dude with Oreos is stoned. No thanks.

well, the problem with gun laws is that the criminals don't care about laws. They're criminals. The people who care about laws probably are the one you don't have to worry about shooting you as much. Not that I'm against gun laws. I just don't see them making that much of a difference. Criminals will still buy guns and all the guns that are already out there will not be turned in.

You're dense. I'm not sure it's an act.

Yes, when I see a specific group of people "protesting" the treatment of their sub-group by white people by burning down a city, I get more uncomfortable around them. I'm white people.

But, as stated, I was already wary of them. Not because of skin color but because of age.

No way. "You are friend is probably dumb" is actually what I meant to say.
