And that's a problem.

Or, if you're a cop, and you see thousands of the same type of people burning down a city, you might be more on edge when dealing with that type people.

Right. Some cops are racist. That's a problem.

Right. Some cops are racist. Probably right along the same percentage as the general population.
And cops are people. They see lawless behavior by a specific sub-group of people and react to them differently out of self-preservation.

If only all cops were like you and had a complete lack of awareness of events, surroundings or behaviors.


Well, except they'd probably only be cops for a week or so before they were dead.

I think we both agree that, in general, cops are more wary of blacks than whites.

It is pretty simple when the rules are being followed. You either obey the law or you do not. Those that break the law need to be punished. If you don't like the law, change it.... Legally.

I could easily make an argument based on BLs ends justify the means philosophy that it doesn't matter if Trump broke law and colluded with the Russians to win an election because in the end Trump is better for this country than Hillary. See how not following the law, or enforcing it, gets more complex?

The ends never justify the means.

What I was alluding to was that many lawmakers are idiots who really are qualified to be doing the jobs that they are doing. Many of those laws probably shouldn't be out there in the first place. They don't address the public need. In many cases they hurt the public. So just saying that a law is a law is short-sighted and idiotic. It's not that simple.

The same cop pulls over two identical white hondas. The driver of car A is black and the driver of car B is white. Both drivers behave exactly the same way. Not in general but most of the people I know are around my age. There weren't a lot of 54 y/o black men/women doing any of that stuff. The age group that was? Yeah, I'm certainly less comfortable walking past a group of 19-22 y/o black males. Seems pretty normal to me. You see, for days on end, a specific age/race breaking numerous laws in plain sight, you get uncomfortable around that specific age/race if you don't know them. I would certainly avoid mid-20s white males after championships. Without question. But I don't think they'd beat me because I was white. Maybe old. Maybe just in the way. Maybe because I said "Stop that, you young whipper-snapper!!!"

You can't simply look at what groups commit violent crimes without looking at the circumstances behind that. Again not a simple statement.
