That aside, if we can make Americans safer, should we?
If banning Muslims from the US creates more terrorists and hatred towards us, should we still attempt to ban them?
Do you really think someone who isn't already well on the way to being a terrorist is suddenly going to say "You know what? That extreme vetting the US is doing is the final straw. Where's my terrorist gear? I'm gonna blow something up"?

LOL. I ****** the question up pretty bad. But, FWIW, the ? came immediately after "are you for EXTREME vetting of all muslims".

So, I guess, I'll ask again with proper wording even though I know you won't answer.

If you knew EXTREME vetting would stop one terrorist, a terrorist that would kill your child, from entering, are you for EXTREME vetting of all muslims?
Of course. Just like you would segregate all blacks to save your kid.

The problem is it's an impossible if. No amount of vetting can prevent all attacks. We balance the need for safety with the need for liberty.
So, since it's impossible, there's no need to try to do better?

Great progress on healthcare. Improvements being made - Republicans coming together!

-Trump on Twitter

The media makes it seem like Republicans are at each other's throats over this...... You will see in the end that Trump is correct and a real/replace will come to pass. Another reason to distrust the media.

I tell cancer patients all the time that they might as well give up cause it's impossible.... I also took the screens off my windows cause they weren't 100% effective at keeping bugs out of my home.

No one is saying don't do better. They're saying don't do this.

I'm sure we could do better preventing crime if we allowed police to go in and search any house, any time. But we don't. Because "doing better" isn't the only concern.

You do recognize the difference, right?

One is taking rights away from Americans.
The other is, well, uh, has nothing to do with Americans.

So, in your eyes, there's no line that shouldn't be crossed in pursuit of safety when it comes to non-citizens?
3/17/2017 9:26 AM
Where did I say that?

I have no problem telling non-citizens "Hold up a minute. We're going to vet you, and vet you hard, before you enter the US. If that's a problem, you're welcome to not come."

You don't think that's already happening?

Evidently our sitting President wants to vet a little harder.

Otherwise, we're not having this discussion, right?

He wants to ban Muslims. Probably more to appeal to his nationalist base and less to improve safety.

And you didn't answer.

The answer is "We can do more. And better. Why shouldn't we?"

What makes you think we are? Are you convinced that we're doing EVERYTHING POSSIBLE when it comes to deciding which foreign citizens can/can't enter the US?
