Would you still use Player Profile: Rico Paniagua - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports at 3b? I feel his range and arm have fallen off too much to put him there

I had a Chubby Cox quite a bit once I hit puberty.

It's always a plus/minus game. I used Player Profile: Kendry Merced - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports at 3B last season because that was the best fit. He wasn't horrible.

With HBD being based on ratings and missing out on the human element, playoff intensity and the intangibles that come with 'the big game' mentality, isn't it technically more statistically impressive to win 100-120 regular season games in HBD then win 11 random playoff games to win the WS? (I know that's not the point, just speaking strictly from a stats perspective.)

Much like MLB, it's two different achievements. Roster construction and random luck play a big part. My playoff roster generally consists of 16 position players and 9 pitchers. That's a 3-4 player swing from the regular season. I use a 3 SP and have more d-replacements/pinch-hitters. So, if I have 3 really good SP, my chances are better in the playoffs than if I had 5 pretty good SP. But, to win 110 regular season games, you need to be 5 deep with the SP.

Please explain how you use Rico Mesa and Felix Siddall. These guys certainly don't have high level ratings but seem to provide really good performance.
