Journalist believes Trump sent him tax return

David Clay Johnston, the journalist who broke the Trump tax return story, says he believes President Donald Trump is the one who sent him the pages anonymously.

"By the way, let me point out that it's entirely possible that Donald Trump sent this to me. Donald Trump has, over the years, leaked all sorts of things," said Johnston, founder of DCReport.org.

What BL exemplifies is the idiocy of the liberal mind. All these comedy shows are taken as journalistic gospel and news. Jon Stewart was probably the first to blur the lines in their minds, which got further obscured by Colbert, until we have the laughable BL claiming that John Oliver's show is "journalism", when John Oliver himself says it isn't. AND HE (BL) STILL DOESN'T ******* GET IT.
I take it you feel the same about the idiocy of the conservative mind that listen to Rush and O'Reilly?
I do feel the same. Any time you're watching/listening to a program/speaker that you know has a slanted viewpoint, you should know that you're getting one version, one distorted version, of the facts.

Do Limbaugh/O'Reilly claim to be journalists? Oliver claims not to be so he won't be subjected to the "rules" of journalism.

It's not that they claim they are journalists...it's that their sycophants think they are journalists and what they say is the gospel. See DouGout as an example.

I blocked dougout years ago. Listening to dougout isn't a good life choice.

The headline on CNN Says, Reporter "thinks" he knows who leaked them.

Truly fake would say, Obama tapped my phones, my inauguration was the biggest ever, 3-5 million illegals voted, I never said Global warming was a hoax, etc etc etc.

I hear when you put air quotes around something, it could really mean anything at all.

Hold on, my microwave is making a weird noise, I think it's trying to see if I'm headed to work on time today. Ya'all have a great day.

But, Taint, if you don't discredit the media, then you have to actually address the issues the media is bringing up. Trump can't have that.

The media talked about nothing but Trump's war on the media for two weeks.

Sure glad they covered that. Extensively.

If the president is actively trying to discredit the media, that's important news.

If you say so. I'm failing to see much value in today's media. They've chosen a side and that's how it's reported. There's an old joke about headlines except I think it used Bama/Auburn.

Poor boy attacked and mauled by vicious pit bull
Sweet family pet kicked and taunted by deliquent

Kid was wearing a Bama shirt. Bama news was first headline. Auburn news was the second. That's how the media reports news now except it's lib/con.

who the hell cares if he's a journalist or not? If you enjoy the show, watch it. If you don't, don't watch it.
Watching it is one thing. I've seen a couple of his monologues, and they're legitimately funny. BUT THEY'RE COMEDIC MONOLOGUES, and clearly some people interpret them as "news".

I agree that as entertainment, it's up to us whether we watch him. Quoting him as "fact" is like quoting Big Bang Theory about string theory. They might be reading a line written by a physicist, but it shouldn't be taken as real information.
some people think the world is flat too. There will always be idiots who believe unbelievable stuff.

Mike's an idiot, but he has a point here.

You say "they've chosen a side" like the media is a monolith.

I say it like it's the truth because it is. You cannot get "fair and balanced" no matter what FOX says. I have no idea if Trump's health plan leaves out 24m old people, will save everyone thousands or save/destroy the earth. Just depends on who I WANT to believe.

I think everyone knows that some news sources are better than others. If you get your news from infowars and Breitbart, you're ******* idiot. If you get it exclusively from Cable News/Fox News Channel/CNN/MSNBC, you're missing out on a huge piece of the puzzle. If you stick to reading the NY Times and Wall St Journal, you're doing better than 95% of the population.

But Trump's goal is to get you to distrust all media and just listen to him. That's a big ******* problem and I'd say that if were Obama was doing the same thing.
