Steal from the middle and reward his cronies at the top?
Do you have more money in your pocket than you did 4 years ago (due to new tax laws and IRS changes)? I know I do, and I don't come anywhere close to grossing, let alone netting, 6-figures any more. LOL at your BS, as I speak from personal experience. Be honest and answer the question relative to yourself. I'd bet it's the same as mine (except maybe the 6-figure part).
I know I do not have any more money in my pocket. I have much less since my wife lost her job to the pandemic. Is that Trump's fault? No, but he certainly has not helped things. Even before my wife lost her job, I doubt I had more money in my pocket, and between the two of us we did gross 6 figures in income.

Actually, his big tax doo-dah was just a postponement of your weekly deduction. Thus, normal wage earners (those making under 150 K/yr.) just had to pay MORE at the end of the year when filing their taxes. It was smoke and mirrors, a trick, designed to get money into the economy now, but at the expense of later, and larger tax returns. Period.

FYI.

My wife and I file jointly. We paid over $4,000.00 taxes for the privilege of living in the U.S.A. last year alone. We make way under 50K.

I'd bet there are 1000's of very rich people in this Country who paid way less, AND I'd bet Donald Trump was one of them.

NOTHING Trump has enacted has helped the weekly wage earner who doesn't have multiple investments and tax shelters like all the ricos have.
That's the majority of working Americans.

The sad truth is the enormous National budget (which has a MASSIVE shortfall year after year) is being financed by working stiffs...........while guys like Trump pay squat!

And every working stiff in MOST states pays State taxes, too. Ours was over a Grand.

Stupid is defined as a poor (or lower middle class economically) person voting for a Republican thinking the Republican is out to help HIM!
It has always been such!
If you made under 50K combined and still needed to pay an additional $4,000 in taxes, you're obviously doing something wrong with your employer withholdings.

But that's exactly my point; you made more money and had less in pocket, while I made less money and had more in my pocket. (No idea HTH bob paid an additional $4000 other than as I noted his employer withholdings are greatly under taken, but I'd welcome another explanation.)

Do you know anyone with school aged kids who’s unsure whether they will vote for Biden? Tell them the reason their kids didn’t finish the last school year was the virus, but the reason their kids won’t start the new school year is Donald Trump.

Facts be damned again. MAYBE Trump's words and actions have made the virus more deadly and widespread than it would have been under another POTUS. We'll never know. That's all speculation. What we do know is that millions of Americans made their own personal decision to blow-off (and continue to blow-off) the severity of the virus by walking around without masks and by holding gatherings they shouldn't. Let's put the blame everywhere it belongs. This all goes back to taking responsibility for one's own actions instead of blaming someone, or something, for them. Not sure why Dems. want to try to take credit for everything good, yet everything bad they try to say .

Reading comprehension needs some help around these parts.

Nowhere did I claim to have paid an EXTRA 4000 bucks in taxes.
I said WE paid over $4,000.00 jointly in taxes to the U.S.A.'s treasury department.
That INCLUDES the withholding taken out of every pay period.

We did write a check to cover what we owed but It was nowhere near 4000 bucks!

TRUMP was the world-wide leader (along with the dummy from Brazil) in minimizing the seriousness of this virus. Full-Stop!

His claims were sucked up repeatedly by the sycophantic news folks who support him and spread to his "flock" of miscreants as gospel.
Thus, THEY responded in kind.

AND, many of them have gotten sick and died.
Karma.

Believing in Trump will kill you.

President Donald Trump on Friday deflected blame for his administration’s lagging ability to test Americans for the coronavirus outbreak, insisting instead — without offering evidence — that fault lies with his predecessor, Barack Obama.

“I don't take responsibility at all,” Trump said defiantly, pointing to an unspecified “set of circumstances” and “rules, regulations and specifications from a different time.”

If you're complaining about paying $4000 total now, I can't wait to see what you say about your tax bill after we have thousand more to support because of allowing open boarders and handing-out "free" (as tang likes to call it) stuff, if the Dems win.

Luckily enough, most policies that Bernie proposes would provide massive benefits to Americans that, in the end, might balance out the increases to your tax bill as a middle class American. Ideally, you would pay more in taxes, but you would also have a higher income and more job opportunities so it would benefit you in the end.

As for open borders (boarders?), **** off, no mainstream Democrat is anti-vetting and pro letting terrorists into the country. Yes, we should increase immigration substantially.

Trump did not create the virus but he has done little, if anything to halt the spread. yes, Americans are a stubborn lot, and no matter what, some of them would refuse to use common sense and wear masks or socially distance. Do you honestly think that if the POTUS had, from the very start, admitted how serious this was, always worn a mask in public, always promoted social distancing, that there wouldn't be more Americans who were willing to do that too? Instead he downplayed the virus, never wore a mask in public (at least not until recently), promoted his rallies were no one was wearing a mask or socially distancing. That made a lot of people think that the POTUS says its nothing, so it must be nothing.

I mean, really..how can you defend Trump calling off the GOP convention because it is too dangerous, yet pushing for opening of schools at the same time?

I'm not meaning to complain OTHER than about the FACT that the rich generally pay WAY WAY LESS in taxes than the majority of workers. Especially so IF you measure that difference by pct. of total income/wealth.

But, my $4000.00 Bucks DOES give me a right to ***** and moan about HOW the $$ is spent and on what.
I believe every taxpayer should be concerned about how and WHERE their tax dollars are spent.

I believe all3 considers me left of center......... a liberal. I am in the traditional meaning a liberal. I make no bones about it.
However, I'm a fiscal realist and a fiscal "conservative" about the Nation's finances. I believe that (ultimately) the Nation MUST be able to balance a budget and (at least) occasionally make payments on any National debt. With YOUR money not mine!!! LOL!
I was against running the debt up in the 1st place............of course at that time, I didn't yet exist!

So, as a liberal, likely to vote Democrat on every ballot I cast (lol) let me point out (again) that THIS liberal independent does NOT want or believe in "open borders".

But, I also don't believe in walls! That's impractical, expensive, ineffective, and overall just stupid!!! with a capital I.
Anyone living near the Border knows this!

We need comprehensive immigration reform!!!
Compromises by both sides MUST be made.

It must be VERY easy to come into our Country for legitimate work (our farmers for one NEED these workers badly!, as does our economy in general).
And those workers must be required to go home.........occasionally and eventually, permanently!

That easy access to our Country for "work" purposes needs to be combined with toughening the legitimate immigration process drastically!
Legal and permanent immigration should be ceased and stopped ENTIRELY!
EXCEPT FOR NATIONAL SECURITY AND OTHER PURPOSES APPROPRIATELY DETERMINED AND DIRECTED BY THE POTUS!

Finally, our National Security interests REQUIRE that we KNOW positively WHO we are allowing in, for what purpose, and for how long they are authorized to remain. AND it needs to have vigorous enforcement capabilities that BEGIN with immediate expulsion PRIOR to any adjudication in a proper Court of Law.

These compromises ARE possible and have to be done to solve this so-called border/immigration problem.

Smuggling of "goods" is really a completely separate issue.
And the truth within that arena is illusive and extremely difficult for MOST Americans to swallow, because they really can't handle the truth!

Bob, why would we deport people who we let in to work? Wouldn't that just cost us money in the long run? Why not let them stay, legally?
