Does anyone have advice how to re size images for posting in the WhatifSports forums?

  • Any help on this subject?

    Any feedback on photobucket?

Does someone have internet sites or tools for handling image files?

Examples of scanned photos, different sizes, different color tones, etc.

Just my two cents to add to this wonderful discussion.

If the point to playing these games is to solely "win", then the point of the process is lost. Over the years, I have taken some ATROCIOUS (no better than 40 win) teams in certain leagues, just to see what would happen (see the Brooklyn Tip Tops, Louisville Colonels and Cleveland Spiders). Everyone knows that cookies and flaws exist in the system (read: Silver King, John Clarkson, Nap, Eddie, Latman, et.al). The point is this: I love the deadball era, I am trying to buy the entire T206 set (minus a few "select" cards: Honus, Ty, etc.). I play this game for the sheer enjoyment and my disasterous owner rating is the proof. 5 teams with 8 games over .500 and 3 with winning % of .300.

Would I like to "fully" understand why Scott Stratton and Guy Hecker can't pitch their way out of a paper bag most seasons? ( I know it is normalization). Would I like to "fully" understand why John Clarkson can ALMOST pitch an entire season at Petco by himself? Would I like to "fully" understand why a pitcher with a monster OAV+ gets shellacked. Would I like to "fully" understand why Addie Joss keeps disappointing me in most leagues (AND THIS IS A MAN WITH THE LOWEST CAREER WHIP IN MLB HISTORY) and I understand that he was facing men with twigs for bats. But still.

I would like to applaud the creators of this game and all their hard work for keeping the upgrades coming to make this game much more realistic. Unlike some of the "owners" who will leave the site due to the changes (or past experiences), I will continue to try and fit this into an already overcrowded life. Where else can one determine the winner of Koufax versus Bonds, The Lord Baltimores versus the 1906 Cubs, The 1899 Spiders versus the 1960 Mets, or the other hundreds of thousands of possibilites.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this site is "what-if-sports", not "win-at-all-costs-by-beating-the-system-sports". Competition is good, fanatics are better, winning by cookies is not.

Thoughts?

Tim

PS. I REALLY WANT A WAY TO SINGLE SPACE POST AND TO EASILY PUT PICTURES IN HERE! LOL

If you want to know how to do 'single spacing', though it doesn't really matter, instead of the default 'double space' between lines, it's SHIFT + ENTER at the same time.

fencer024 has good advice, copy and paste works some of the time, getting the link from the properties works close to all the time.

Posting pictures in your WhatifSports Messages

When you find a picture you want to post, you can right-click the photo, the bottom term on the drop down list will be properties.
When you click the properties you will want to highlight the URL address

Right Click the highlighted address e.g

http://www.kityoung.com/kyc/47260.jpg

In the message posting box, choose where you want to post your picture, click the Add Image button, 14th of 15th button to right.

Explorer User Prompt will pop up - Script Prompt: Enter the web address of the image
The space will already have http:// , you will paste the address you copied from the properties http:// can be deleted, or you can just copy adresses without the http://

http://www.kityoung.com/kyc/47260.jpg

click ok, that should do it.
