Sometimes its not the SIM Topic

dont you think it's a little obnoxious to always be congratulating yourself on stuff?
Always?  It's simply a reminder...for all those times that people fought me about the things I said here, told me to shut up, or that I didn't know what I was talking about, etc.  If others aren't going to acknowledge past actions/comments, I will.

For the record, it's not when I lose, it's HOW I lose.

And losing eight straight after winning eight straight twice in a season? Please.

Suck my ball$ for being an apologist, Leibo. This engine needs an overhaul. No more, no less.

I think you have unintentionally fed the "beast".  I do agree with one of your points, in that new users or potential users could easily be put off by the constant and ineffective rants in the forums.  All of the issues with the sim, seble, tickets, etc. are telling about the overall dedication that WIS has to Simleague basketball. However the product itself is still the best out there, and therefore it is still worth playing for some.  The forums have been like deja vu ever since I started playing in this site.

It would be a shame if potential users did not give it a try and judge for themselves whether or not they like the sim.  Ultimately, if the forums were for theme leagues, discussions, etc and the negativity were not present, I believe that there would be more users. But I guess in the end a forum is a forum.

Good God. Soak your post in Kool Aid and win a theme league before you open your mouth. Why should we spend money on a product that doesn't take pride in improving itself? IT IS AUGUST - THE SEASON STARTS IN THREE MONTHS - WE DON'T HAVE '09-'10 PLAYERS!!!

You guys accept mediocrity, and the people who want change are the problem? Forgive us for wanting something that we invest in to yield a return. You clowns are the  same people who didn't object to AIG...you both make me sick, brother.

Shap I do not accept mediocrity at all and to compare WIS to AIG is really way out wack.  I want the SIM to be better but the only way and I mean the only way to get a better SIM is have more players i.e. more profit.  If we constantly scream how bad everything is we scare a lot of potential players away.  Not sure why you can't see that.

Um....... What? More people might play (or continue to play) if WIS gave a flying **** about the Basketball SIM. Even if more people played, the money would go to the baseball and dynasty games.

Leibs - you're an apologist. I'm hoping you just really, really love WISNBA. Otherwise, I'm inclined to think you're a moron.

Listen to yourself - "we need more people to support a flawed product! If more people dump money in, all the problems will go away!"

Sounds the same as - "Invest money in my bank, even though we don't have a strategy for your investment!"

The solution is so f-cking obvious - fix the randmonness and other obvious flaws in the current engine, give the user more control (i.e. defensive switches, zone defense, etc), and RELEASE THE NEW BATCH OF PLAYERS BEFORE THE '10-'11 SEASON STARTS.

Compared to where it was in 2006 and prior, the sim itself is pretty good right now.  (If you weren't on the site back then, you won't understand the halycon days of Rafer Alston, Stew Johnson, and Steve Kerr.)  The games are more realistic, and the additional stats they added in early 2009 (I think) like usage, eFG%, etc. have been positive changes.

The general frustration evident in these forums stems from the absolute neglect of the sim and the blatant disdain for our concerns therein.  Taking three months to release the 09-10 players when they were promised in early June is simply unacceptable.  WIS shows absolutely no empathy, and they are not making the slightest effort to address our frustrations or provide us with sufficient restitution for our continued, albeit very frayed, patience.

They should provide ANYONE who has purchased even one NBA sim team in the last 3 months a free 6-pack of teams for this delay.  Will they?  Of course not.  I'm sure we'll see a promotion as soon as the 09-10 players are finally released, boasting about the "newly upgraded NBA sim," and they'll give a free team to every new user who has never purchased a NBA sim team, but existing users will get jack squat.  They'll use lying and deception to attract new customers and neglect and disregard to scare away existing customers.

I fully understand that this delay is bad for the game, and I'm truly sorry for it. There are lots of things that have happened here behind the scenes that have led to the current situation in the NBA game. I am planning on pushing for some kind of reward for those who have continued to play during the delay.

shap (and Sly) I'm an economist not an apologist.  LMAO, you still have no idea what I'm talking about.  Yes they need all of that and have ignored and dropped the ball on many things including the release of the 09-10 players.  Which has and is being handle extremely bad.  By the way, they already told us their stratgey,  don't spend much money on the SIM.  Why?  Becuase it doesn't generate much income.  The only reason we are getting an update (changes is position effectiveness, defense, ect) is they embarrased themselves when they predicted the Trailblazers would win the championship without Brandon Roy!  And the reason they won't release the 09-10 and then do the update its becuase of money.  So we need more players so they have more money so we can have more updates.  That's it, that's the deal get it?  Put the cart before the horse..

It costs more money to attract new customers than it would to make the adjustments to keep thier existing ones happy. Happy and satisfied customers will keep your customer base growing. While ignoring your established customer base and only trying to get new customers is a recipe for failure.

a wise man once said,   "A BIRD IN THE HAND IS WORTH TWO IN THE BUSH"

And while i believe all of the updates going on in HD is killing us. I really i'm not able to except that as an excuse. WIS is owned by one of the riches companies in the world, Media Corp. and the gaming business is one of the fastest growing industries on the net. Hopefully, Wis can turn this crap around before my last 2 seasons end around 9/11
(ironic ain't it) or i will be gone as well.

Eleibowitz, please ask seble for a tissue you've got a little something on your chin........

Simple ecomonics chris_snid and in a company like this profits centers are compartmentalized.  It doesn't matter its one of the richest companies in the world.  Chris_Snid you must learn to read and comprehend becuase if you read my post properly you would see I'm not defending the people who run this SIM.  I want to keep the SIM running so I can play.  End of story.  Because is there a better SIM out there? I don't hear anyone mentioning that.

Where's this update you speak of? I haven't seen it. Did I miss it? I swear I've been on this site everyday for the last 18 months. Did I miss the update?

Leibo - as I said before, you must REALLY like playing this SIM. It is the only way you can seriously tell people to dump their money into a faulty engine.

"Put the cart before the horse" - that is f-cking laughable from an "economist" who is telling us to invest in a failing product. Did you take your lessons from Randolph and Mortimer Duke? Did Seble hand you the crop report that details his latest update? "LEIBO - GET BACK IN THERE AND SELLLLLL!"

One more thing - I don't give a FLYING F-CK if there aren't any better engines. This engine sucks right now. Horrible customer support and no adjustments.
