Trump: Worst President Ever? Topic

I'm not going to bet on the GOP impeaching him. It certainly isn't a very likely scenario because of partisanship. But it's a lot more likely than it was two weeks ago.

The director of the FBI has a history of documenting conversations like this and he shared the memo with other FBI officials immediately after the conversation, it qualifies as sufficient documentation.
So ???????????????

Add in the fact that Trump admitted he fired Comey because he wanted the Russia investigation to go away, and this becomes a HUGE problem for Trump.
And ????????????????????????

Yeah, those are big deals. If congress was closer to 50/50 GOP/Dem, I'd guess impeachment was likely. But, because the house is like 70% GOP and a Senate conviction requires 67 votes, I don't think the chances are high that Trump is removed.

I do think this is the clearest evidence we've had yet that Trump should be impeached.

But, under the current conditions, do you think this is a HUGE problem for Trump? Or that there is sufficient documentation for impeachment hearings?

I think it's a huge problem for Trump. The fact that impeachment is a realistic possibility with such a favorable partisan split in congress says it all.

Trump's approval rating is in the 30's. That's the kind of rating that could cost the GOP the house. That's not lost on them.

But not enough to bet on it? I mean, when moy was "TRUMP, TRUMP!, TRUMP!!!!!!", you hounded him for weeks, if not months, to bet on his Presidency. It seems like you're saying "This is a HUGE problem for Trump. Could easily lead to impeachment hearings" AND "Well, the Congress is largely Repub so I doubt he'll face impeachment" all on the same page.

Pick a lane.

I know complicated situations are problematic for you, you need everything to be 100% one way or the other, so...sorry. There's nothing I can do about that.

In this situation, the Comey stuff is incredibly damaging to Trump. It damages his likelihood for re-election, it damages GOP house chances for re-election, it damages his chances of staying in office.

It doesn't mean that impeachment is certain or even very likely. But it does make impeachment more likely than it was just a few days or weeks ago.
5/17/2017 1:36 PM
Yeah, I disagree. Impeachment isn't on the board except seriously left-leaning libs. A note from Comey is nothing. There's more to the meeting with Russia and leaking confidential info than the Comey note.

Trump makes blunder after blunder but they're nothing more than IRS, Benghazi, birther, etc, etc Obama scandals.

If I HAD to bet, I'd bet that Trump ***** up bad enough, with REAL evidence, to face impeachment. Not sure he will but something far worse will come up because Trump doesn't seem all that interested in learning protocol.

So, sorry, put your tinfoil hat back in it's box. You'll probably be able to use it later but today is not that day.

There was no Obama "scandal" that even came close to these two weeks of Trump. Sorry.

And, idiot, you can't throw birther in there. That wasn't an Obama scandal.

Obstruction of justice is impeachable. Why is that so hard to understand?

I'm curious as to how it's going to be more than Comey's word vs Trump's word. Do you think there's any evidence of it being true?
Less than 24 hours before I get to quote previous posts. Good job?

If you don't think Comey is credible, I guess that's an argument. It seems like most people, even GOP in congress, find him very credible.
