My point with #1 was to say that most WS teams aren't overmatched by their opponents.  Whereas if you lost 12 straight games in a regular season, it could be because your team has simply been overmatched by a few consecutive opponents (or, your team is just bad, period).

I agree that losing 7 world series while up 3-0 is freaky.  My point was that losing 12 series in a row is no more freaky than losing 12 in a row.  Yes, it is odd for a good team to go through that, but it happens.
