Middle 40's, the guy is set in his ways. If he's been fishing solo for a long time, odds are that he uses the time as his "solitary time". Just tell him that you don't like fishing... If not-fishing is a showstopper for him, then he wasn't the right guy to begin with. If he appreciates you for YOU, and fishing is just a hobby for him, your honesty now will pay off in the long run.

One bit of advice (i'm in my mid-40's as well, and it's what i told my 16-year old when he started dating)... Don't fake interest in something you don't care about. It starts the relationship on a LIE, and that's a bad way to start any relationship.

If you hate normal, regular "fishing", this guy could be the man of your dreams. Then again, if finding new *** is his hobby - eh, not so much...

You guys made me laugh. We have been emailing and I took your alls advice - told him before he could ask that I HATE fishing and using jammies advice, told him I would not ask him to go shopping - ever.

as for the bikini - I used to be a knockout, but...not so much anymore. It's a 40's thing, most of you would not understand yet (but you will)
