Good things you took your clever pills there, Chief.

I looked it up, Musial was in the navy from 1945-46. I wonder why he didn't go earlier.

Thank you.

Great clip there bird1. I have an uncle that saw Musial hundreds of times, along with some other greats. According to him NOBODY hit laser beams like this guy.

I sorta like the 51 a little bit more. The higher avg kinda did it for me bc the power is kind of wash with you trading some hr and triples for doubles.

I'm not sure about this. When I drafted him into the 1B position his fielding ratings dropped significantly, I presume because 1B is his secondary position (went to C/B+ from B+/A+ in the draft center). Which one would carry through to the actual simmed games?

Its amazing how much his foot comes off the ground. It looks nothing like today's power hitters. He is generating an immense amount of torque-his whole body is going right through the baseball.

Yeah, baseball was more interesting when sluggers couldn't just flick their wrists and drop one over the fence in right-center.

Gotta figure out a way to show this clip to my 8-9 year old little league team. the way he ends up transferring his weight to the front foot is a true thing of beauty.

The B+/A+ carries over into the season. It just doesn't show that way in the draft center, but he'll get the rating.

I saw him when I was 12, in 1962. I seem to recall his crouch as more pronounced than this video reveals.

I have a a Stan Musial autographed baseball.

Very different theory of hitting. Look at some clips of Aaron too -- he shifts his weight dramatically to the front foot as well. Today , they teach to keep everything still with very little weight transfer and let pulling the hips generate the power. I love the clips of these guys.
