Didn't realize that not turning over the phone when asked to, is a breach of the NFL rules and is considered conduct detrimental to the league. Same with not letting the NFL interview McNally and Gostkowski not turning over his phone. They are all going to get hit and I'd assume it to be pretty hard.

Is that really a rule?   Your personal phone is considered NFL "property"?   That doesn't seem right.     That said, if that's the case, Brady is a dumbass for texting.

Yeah. Anything they ask in an investigation, you must comply. I guess all the Ravens turned their phones over during the Rice fiasco. There's an article of PRo football talk about it.

The NFLPA sucks.

Yup. It's in the CBA. Love seeing all these dumbass Pats fans who were all over Lynch about having to talk to the press because of the contract he signed, defending Brady when he didn't follow the rules if the contract he signed.

Honestly I don't recall any fans being all over Lynch...he wants to be his own circus, good on him

I do feel like there is a certain witch hunt mentality here where people are just raving for Toms head simply because they can

There really isn't anything but a few texts and a general lack of cooperation to find actual guilt in this, but given the general sense of it I can see why Goodell would feel the need to punish....I see 4 games which willl please neither side and then I see it appealed down to 2

Have the Patriots fired the two dudes who did this?

How about actually being complicit in the cheating? Doesn't that count?

If there is nothing to hide you cooperate and turn over the phone. The very fact that he refused is a pretty glaring tell that he was at least aware.

Every one of the excuses provided so far have been extremely weak and pitiful.

My favorite is "It didn't really help."

It's the intention that matters.   Say you intend to cheat on your wife.   Everything is done to set up your rendezvous but, at the make or break moment, ED prevents the conclusion.   Are you going to go with "Yes, I was going to screw her but my winkie didn't work right"?    Will that matter to wifey?

Apparently, if she's a Patriot fan it just might...

I'm not sure I would jump to the conclusion that not turning over his phone equals being complicit...that's being too ready to find him guilty and I am not saying he is or isn't, but the case made in this report is flimsy and if it were in a court room, he would walk

Mostly I am talking about those tv soapbox messiahs like Olbermann who are taking the moment to promote themselves and calling for blood

What if his phone has pictures of 100 women he gets with on road trips? Perhaps he knows that would become public knowledge in a heartbeat and thinks his wife might disapprove....I imagine holding on to his phone and not following the Tiger path makes the most sense

Extreme example maybe but we have no idea the actual circumstances

At the end of the day, I think we know that no EManager or BBoy does anything to the footballs that the QB doesn't instruct to be done.

4 games for Brady. Lose a 1st rounder in 16. 4th rounder in 17. Million dollar fine.
